Often overlooked and not widely accepted, tell us of your results with the .356W.

I had one for a few months. Pretty nice gun and definitely seemed potent. Wish I had kept it now.

I had a .307 BB94.
Wanted .356 but they were sold out (1st version).
Good looking rig...............worst friggin rifle I ever had accuracy wise.
Shame.

Heard there were some Marlins in .356 win.
Also heard they be pricey.

The one deer I have witnessed hit with a factory Winchester 250gr showed awesome ribcage damage, entrance and exit.

I had the Win BB's in 356 and 375. The 307 was the one I could never obtain.

I have one. Shoots better than I expected with the 180 Speer and 200 Hornady RN, both with Ramshot Xterminator.

I've been looking for one for years. A while back there were 10+ Winchesters on Gunbroker but they were either asking too much or they were the versions with the UGLY cross bolt safety.

356 Winchester ammo is scarce these days. Right now it is easier to find 307 Win. or 375 Win ammo and cases.

I'd still buy one if it didn't cost a king's ransom.

Mine is a Marlin 336. It acts like it is a 358 Winchester. The one I have is as accurate as any Marlin 336 I have, no complaints there. It is enough like a 358 Win that you can use the same dies with just a different shell holder. For the life of me, I can't understand why this rifle didn't sell well enough to stay on the market.

The 356win has been my main caliber since they came out, hunt rainforest in AK. Have 3, a trapper (custom), 1 built on a top eject big bore action and a soon to be complete 24in barrel with ladder sight. Use factory 200gr when hunting where no brownies and 250gr Kodiaks for when hunting areas with brownies. Have taken several moose, many deer accuracy has been excellent using peep sights.

I have a 356 in a Marlin and would like to shoot it some. Anyone have a few good reload recipes for the 356?

I have a 356 marlin also.

I haven't really worked it up yet. Hope to in February. I may have some factory ammo to sell at that time.

I’ve shot quite a few deer with various 356s. They kill quick and penetrate and break bones good. Anything you can say of a 358, you can say for the 356, especially with hand loads. Just traded my last Marlin 356 for another 358....it’s a coin flip.

I have one in a 94. Never shot it. I don't think it's EVER been fired. I just look at it. It looks really nice !!! grin

Interesting to hear from the folks who DON'T just look at theirs.

Have had my BB94 set up with a Williams peep for a while, but I'm considering a scope to really see what it can do to tighten up groups. Great walking/tracking rifle that packs a punch!

I have a Marlin 336 SC in 356 WIN that has been rechambered from 35 REM. It works well with both rimmed, 356, and rimless, 358, cases 180, 200, and 220 grain bullets. The only thing that I've shot with it are whitetails. I shot one with the 220 grain Speer FP and got little, if any, expansion, so I switched to the 180 grain Speer FP and got DRT results. Typical Marlin 336 accuracy. If I ever come across a Marlin 336 XLR in 35 REM with a reasonable price, I will be tempted to buy it and have it rechambered to 356 WIN.

Hey 260remguy, I did just that with an xlr in 35 rem. But I did trim it back to 21 inches. Also added XS sights. I had the work done by Reagan Nonneman in northern Missouri.
