I have a used 284 in rem mountain rifle contour ss Rock, 1 in 9 twist, 22", shot great less than a box down tube, just had smith( Karl Feldkamp) screw on a different one.
Karl chambered and built from blank. $250 OBO, shipped.
I also have New Broughton #2 ss in 270, 1 in 10, will finnish up to 24", new and unchambered, $325 OBRO, shipped.

the 284 barrel has oversized threads and would need to be recut threads to fit factory action according to Karl. FYI

Wanted to answer some questions on 270 barrel:
blank is 26" total overall
muzzle at 25"would be .605"
