The only one I saw at the Tulsa gun show last April, and I was looking, was listed for $995. Again, it was listed for this amount or that is what he claimed to be his bottom dollar, I can’t recall. I am uncertain if it sold. That is by far the rarest caliber of the 100s, and there are some guys out there looking to complete the trinity. If it is all original, and in good shape, I would say that is a bargain.

I've owned several Winchester 100s in 284 and found them to be very magazine sensitive, in that they would work fine with some magazines and unreliably with others that appeared to be identical. I wouldn't recommend that anyone should consider buying a Winchester 100 in 284 unless they can shoot it and confirm that it will work with the magazine(s) that come with it. I never have problems with my Winchester 100s in 243 and 308.

Plus, the expensive and frequently hard to find Winchester/Olin 284 150 grain factory load is only a little faster than dozens of cheaper and more common 150 grain 308 factory loads.
