Anyone running this caliber?

I bought an Encore rifle barrel from MGM just to try the caliber out. Bought some pretty inexpensive ammo for brass and am curious who's working with it and what powder/bullets you are seeing good results with.

Cliff,

will be following your findings... picked up a few of those cases over at the range..

talking bolt action, but like any reloading nut, it looks like an interesting case to play around with
for a while and see what it gives....

Got a Savage or two that are easy to switch barrels on...

a 243 length mag box, with a bench rest follower and say a 1 in 7 twist....

seat those 75 and 80 grain Plastic Tip bullets out there....

will be fun to see what happens....

John, I'm thinking the same thing. I have a CZ527 that was re-barreled to 6.8 SPC so this should work really well. I have a little bit of load data but will want to compile more.

Myself, I will be looking at H322, AR Comp, & RL 10 for starters...

I like the plastic tipped and match bullets of 68 to 80 grains in 22 caliber...

I don't see me going over 80 grains and will likely begin working out with the 62 TTSX.

I built 3 AR15s in this caliber for some ranch managers as they want the 224V for coyotes/deer/antelope.
They all have a 22", 1/7" tw bbl, rifle length gas. Testing many loads/powders I found all 3 will put the 53g Varmageedon into .333" to .600" groups at 100 yds.
The federal fusion factory 90g load runs from .870" to 1 1/2" at 100 yds, seems they just don't like to print better for the factory load.
75g Hornady BTHP match sticks to .750". 75g amax the same, 60g vmax stays a tad under 1". Testing the 68g hornady BTHP and 80g sierra BTHP next.
Powders Ive tested, CFE, H414, X8208, H335, blc2, super performance,

I shoot them wherever I can. Sometimes I catch 15 at once. They are going crazy when you begin to shoot.

i was wondering if your uppers were from Delta ? sounds like my specs on upper from them.Love mine, shoots fed. 75 pretty tight, working on 60 grain bullet loads for now. Heaviest 22 cal bullet i have at the moment . If you are using Delta upper with bcg did you have to polish bolt to get good primer hits on reloads ?

I got the barrels and bolts from Midsouth, upper recievers from Primary Arms, didnt need to do any polishing at all with this set up.
