Scott, looks like you and your father had a pretty good hunt. I'm sure you both have these hunts burned into your memory for ever, I think that's a good thing. So happy to see you had a wonderful hunt. Blessings for sure. Take care.

Scott, readers would probably be interested in hearing a few details on how our old bud, the late BobinNH, worked into this ongoing KS saga.

In addition to that you could not ask to hunt with better people. Period.
I know this is an old post. But once again...Bob was right. Tom thanks for that! Interesting that you should bring up BobNH. The morning Scott shot 'Stickers' I was freezing various body parts due to the cold NE wind about 8:30am I decided to have a chat with Bob. "Bob, if you are just sitting around doing nothing up there this morning, Scott could use a little help over by the Maple Grove." Half-hour later I got the call from Scott, he had 'Stickers' on the ground. Strange but true! Bob made an impression on whomever he came into contact with. Dad was sharing the above with me not long after he arrived on the scene and I thought that was pretty cool. In the short five minutes I had between seeing the buck and actually pulling the trigger, I may have heard Bob's booming voice a time or two: "Skawwwwt, whaddya fawwking waiting for - shoot the fawwwking thing already..."

"Skawwwwt, whaddya fawwking waiting for - shoot the fawwwking thing already..." laugh laughScott...It's rather ironic but I remember you making every effort to put Bawb in a position to get that particular buck that year. Then four years later you found him in nearly the same place. Bawb must have remembered where the Maple Grove was.

I started to get to know BobNH on here relatively shortly before his passing and remember thinking, I would like to hunt with this guy someday. I wish I would have got that chance. I'm glad you guys did.

Its gonna be hard to beat a 140 vld. I'm currently running 139 Scenars in my 6.5 Creed. Good on targets, no meat, yet. Pat seems to like'em. They may be a tad harder/tougher than the VLD, maybe not quite as expansive. I used a 120 NBT out of my 7-08 earlier in the season. Chest shot, good exit, considerable damage, 50 yd death run, not DRT. That bullet is pretty tough. DF
