Finally got done welding this stuff together and painting it.

Finished! smile

Just reminds you even the simple jobs can have hiccups. (Got the new cutting torch bottles on a dolly now too.)

This should work for what I need.

Looks good Barry, may I borrow that? I need to find the woman that kept backing into my 67 Mustang paroral parking the years back!

I can use the gooseneck hitch on the bale spear as is.

I welded the receiver hitch to it as well, just in case I needed it, but I'd have to take the spears off to use it.

Back of my tractor is filthy.

Guess I'll get the pressure washer out today and blast that grease off of it. It gets that way because when shredding with my big batwing, I pump lots of grease into the CV joint there at the PTO.

It then slings it everywhere. Better than spending $1300 for a new driveshaft assy...

I got both the 2 5/8" ball and the receiver hitch for under $30.

Sure beats over $300 for the attachment! wink

Got around to it a couple weeks ago. However, I wanted the welds to hold, so I went to my mechanic/machinist/smith/welder neighbor. wink

Weld-on hooks (2) on the bucket plus 2" ball. 2-5/16 ball on the hay spear. Spear needed a little extension so the upper arm had room. Welds are a bit lumpy as it was cold when we did this.

HomeyD does not have an exact match for Kubota orange!

Looks good!

I did have occasion to try mine out... on my big, 35' tandem gooseneck. Worked like a charm.

I was a bit worried about the weight, since that trailer weighs 8,000 pounds empty. But it seemed to work fine. Moved the trailer all over with it. wink

IB, I've seen those chain hooks welded onto buckets before. That looks handy as well...

My 45hp tractor has very HD D-rings and bracket welded on the top of the bucket. I use those often.

Had limited options pulling the wrapped bales off the trailer during the winter. In addition to the hooks, I can loop a tow strap on the ball.

What I've read is to weld the hooks in line w the FEL arms, so we did. Is that how your D's are mounted?

I put them just to the outside of the FEL arms. That way any chains or whatever I have hooked up to them are working outside the hydraulic cylinders, and not likely to put those cylinders in a bind, or obstruct movement of them.
