Up for your consideration. I really like this rifle, and Im not totally convinced it needs a new home, but we’ll test the waters.

Custom Winchester Model 70 Classic Stainless in 6.5 GAP 4S (6.5 SAUM)

Stated life as a Classic Stainless 300 WSM from New Haven CT, then LRI did their Tier One Accurizing/blueprinting package adding a #3 Bartilein, which was fluted and finished at 23.3”. Trigger is a very nice 2.5 lbs
Stock is a professionally finished and fully pillar and glass bedded Bansner/High Tech fitted with a 1” Decelerator at 13.5” LOP. PT&G 1pc bottom metal, is also perfectly fitted and bedded.
Weight is a sweetly balanced 7lbs.

This rifle shot 3/4” or less right off the bat w/ 143 ELDXs and H1000.
0.5” or less is not uncommon and my good buddy “iddave” borrowed this for an elk hunt (nice bull @ nearly 600 yards) and used his skillz to shoot this tiny cluster group below.
0.081” Freebore reamer. Approx: 85 rounds down the tube.
Adding a reliable scope puts this at an ideal balance of long range capability and packable, well balanced weight.
Something around $2650 invested. NF and Talleys not included

$1835 shipped to your FFL (from individual, AK a bit more, full insurance on your dime)

115 count Hornandy brass (proper “6.5 GAP” stamped) 37 of which are unfired, Redding dies and a handful of 143 ELDx are available to buyer for $100 + shipping.

It’s a straight killing machine. Ask me how I know.

Bump for a bad-azz stick.

Thanks guys! You’ve got me second guessing...

8.5 twist as that was GAPs reccommendation at build time. It spins 147s just fine and I’m sure heavier at the velocities this is cookin.

Pretty damn sweet. I'm surprised you are selling this. However, I've seen you let some great rifles go..

I take it the weight of 7 lbs., is just the rifle by itself?
Thanks.

Dang. Tempting. What is muzzle diameter? Big enough for 9/16x24?

What kind of velocity are you getting from this?

Never mind, I guess it irrelevant...
