Any chance of this happening late this year or early next year? This needs to happen with a threaded barrel, fluted would be nice. Who do we bark at to make this happen?

It won't happen. Steyr tried OT 308 chambering a decade + past. There were 7-08, 243, 223, and 376 produced in small numbers. The only threaded version then was the fast twist 308 (Swiss) variety. The price has now dropped considerably. Something in the area of 30%. They are threading them standard now, as well as providing a round bolt handle and 4 different color stocks. But the scout is built on the SBS96 ACTION and Steyr isn't going to stick to that platform for new chambering. You may see an SM12 but don't count on any 96 variant. You can get a threaded scout with a Swarovski Z3 3-10x42 factory mounted for $2k retail. Probably less.

A friend of mines brother works for Steyr. The Scout rifle in 6.5 Creed is currently in the production phase at their new production facility in Birmingham.

IF... it'll be $1500 or $2000 as a package.

Well it took Steyr a year and half but they are finally selling a Scout 6.5! I fully realize this is not everyone's cup of tea, but it is for me. Time to start saving and figuring out what scope to put on it!
