Tickle his ribs? Make him angry? With slugs, slow him down? I'm curious. Rusty

I bet they are Brenneke slugs. And I will leave it up to the bear experts but they make a good product.

Throttle fixes everything. If it doesn't fix the problem, it’ll end the suspense.

Svalbard is a unique place in the world... you still have to be 18 to carry a long gun and 21 for a handgun. Shotguns should be 12 gauge, hold 4 shells and be loaded with slugs. Shotguns are discouraged because they are less effective and malfunction in the icy conditions. Preferred weapon is a bolt action .308 or 30-06.

A shotgun with slugs will kill the bear at 50 yds. If not the bear will get the heck out of there before he gets another one.
But the fruits of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gentleness and self control. Against such things there is no law. Galations 5: 22&23

Could also be talking about most Northern Alaskan villages. Same age's to buy guns, but the youngsters here can possess them.

I get what you are saying but the gun laws are way more strict in places like Norway than in Alaska. Not saying it doesn't happen but you would get your ass in a ringer if you got caught as an unaccompanied minor with a firearm. Also the location that the troll is referencing; it is only required by law to be armed when leaving the settlement but there is nobody living outside the settlement coming or going from school...

Seems ,maybe justifiably, that kids no longer have brains or ability. Years back in Virginia, licensed students drove school buses.

I know a guy who did that in Pa, in the seventies. His dad had busses, and he turned 18 between 11th and 12th grade. Drove the bus around picking up kids. Parked it at school all day, drove them all home.
Darn good gig for a school kid.
Imagine trying to get insurance for that today.
Early '90s I started driving semi's at 21. Only 2 companies could hire at that age, and they were self-insured.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

We had high school kids driving buses when I was in school, I graduated in 1986.
With them being in school all day there was less chance of them being drunk than the adult drivers....

Less chance. That's funny. But then, I remember some alcohol being consumed in the vo-tech diesel shop.
