I have a friend at the NIC headquarters who actually makes and supplies all of the materials that the various Cerakoters around the country use. They also do in-house Cerakote work. He told me that they are working on a process for scopes. In fact I'm looking for a scope ring or otherwise damaged Leupold to try the process on.

Leupold offers Cerakote in their custom shop. I am not sure if they're finishing the tube before assembly or doing the air cure type after assembly. I'd assume the former...

Just a heads up guys, Cerakote a scope and it voids the warranty with most mfg's. They get scopes back with melt damage inside so now in the fine print of warranties it states that cerakote voids the warranty. Just an FYI

Done a few on mine. Just set oven on low temp! Comes out pretty good of course the only thing that stands out are the rubber rear focus rings.

I am thinking about Cerakote for my scope rings. The texture of the Cerakote I have seek is a bit rough and I think it may help secure the scope from moving. Baking my scope creeps me out and it is spendy.

Air cure. Duracoat too. Warranty void is pure BS, if not baked nor the cause of the problem, but they decide what they want. The OEM stuff is pre-assembly no doubt.
Hawke is void if painted. SWFA is ok, at least they resale painted scopes in the list. . . I have heard both ways regarding Leupold but got warranty work on a painted scope years ago.

I know Nikon the warranty is voided as well. I've done a few scopes over the years. Duracoat holds up great and goes on smooth. The Cerakote air dry is another alternative. I bake them low temp around 110 to speed the process. You'll need some fine line 3m blue tape and a scotch brite pad to stuff the tube.

Film dip it . I actually saw a Weatherby Mark V and a ZEiss 30mm scope that underwent that at a gunshow for sale.

Yes you can. The stock and scope were done with a no bake or low bake cerakote process, I don't remember. A friend of mine went to the Cerakote training class in Oregon and I donated this rifle as one of his projects. It is still holding up great and I haven't been gentle with it to say the least.

Kickback coatings in Ogden, UT. They did the whole rifle, stock and all the metal.
