Another thread here in this forum sparked my interest in asking if anyone know much about the Lever Action rifles Kodiak Bear Guide Mike Horstman carries.....

Was that sheep or goat? A Lever Action right? I noticed in one episode while scouting with his dog he was carting what looked to be a Lever action Marlin. An older one. Maybe evn a lil longer barrel than normal..

when he was hunting goats it was with his lever action Winchester 88, scouting for bear not sure but I think it was a Winchester 71 -348 win. ?

Mike is a consummate gun loonie. Although they referred to them as gun cranks in his day! And he is always messing with "new" old guns.
He is quite fond of M-71 Winchesters but is liable to be carrying anything.
Mike also loves combo guns as when he is alone with Adele, his German wirehair, he is likely to shoot anything from deer to ducks.
