I ran across one today that looks like it must be in plastic. I'll have to run down the link again.

People do make them, it's just a lot of work to trim them down to fit. gunstocksinc, others. There are some guys that can duplicate an existing stock.. don't have any names though. Wasn't a campfire member doing it last year?

Yeah, I sent him a forearm a while back for him to duplicate. I've never bought anything from him but he sounds good.

So are you saying he never got back to you?

Didn't want it back. If I had, he would have.

I have a new unfinished one that I bought by mistake some years ago. Appears to be a pretty nice piece of straight grain walnut. I'll take a picture and send it to you, if you're still looking and interested. Posted a couple of pictures in the "Image Gallery".

Are all crescent buttstocks the same? I seem to recall that there is some difference in length in certain years, or am I mistaken? Thanks, Chris O.

There is a pistol grip with a crescent butt plate, but they are pretty rare. Certain models from approx. 1908(?) through WWI will have a perch belly bottom line to the stock contour instead of the straight bottom line.

I saw a pistol grip with a crescent butt plate and thought it was a custom mod. Are we sure these were actual produced by Savage?
