I’ve got a vanguard heavy tripod and the head that came with it seems to have some slop in it, considering replacing it for better imagery. What’s your favorite head for a spotter, mines a 65mm?
Thanks
Jon

If you are packing and want lighter weight, I'd look at the Manfrotto 700 RC2 fluid video head.

Best light weight fluid head with a pan handle is the Promaster SPCH20 Cine Head. It can support most spotters, is Arca Swiss and has a 1 year no fault warranty that we extend for forum members to lifetime!!
Normally it is $89.99, members here pay $74.99

Here is a link to see it. Call us to order at this price

Don't know about your specific unit, but take it apart. One of Cookie's camera units was exhibiting a little play, and I found a couple screws inside that had backed out a bit and were allowing some movement. Good as new now.

It's the head that came on a Vanguard Tracker 2 tripod. The loose part is the tilt, allows the head to go from horizontal to vertical (right edge pointing to three o clock, rotating up to 12 o clock as you sit behind it)
There's a screw and barrel there that I took apart last night and tightened up, but it seems like there's not much more to tighten, aluminum may have just worn riding on a steel shaft?
I'm going to go try some out and look at the suggestions and hints.
Thanks, I appreciate any help provided!
Jon
