Looking to get rid of some rifles I have laying around. This one however I'm having a hard time trying to put a value on. Let me know what you think it's worth?
Ruger M77 Mark II stainless rifle w/zytel stock (boat paddle stock) (has matching stainless Ruger rings)
Caliber .260
In good used condition

Depends on the buyer and your motivation factor. Stick it on gun broker I bet it goes for more than $1k.

Give me your opinions! I bought one that was NIB for $650 in 2015. Then I bought a stainless Hawkeye in 6.5 Creedmoor for $525 in 2017 and never got around to shooting the 260. The soaring popularity of the 6.5 Creedmoor has pretty much killed the market for rifles chambered in 260. Good luck with you sale.

I've been watching Rugers a lot lately. In the right condition, and exposed to the right market, you might make $750. Some boat paddle loonie might give you $800, but your sweet spot is going to be $650 for most markets and in used condition. Several boat paddle magnums near me right now that have been on the market for a LONG time at $700-750. As 260 said, the 6.5 Creedmoor has been killing the 260 market--and even that is getting saturated, from my own experience with a couple of Creedmoors on the local market.

I saw 4 of the boat paddle Rugers at a gun show weekend before last. All were long action and stainless. All had prices from $825 - $900 on the tag. I thought that was high, even for a gun show price. I've seen them go on Gunbroker for a lot more than I'd be willing to pay for one. Just more information.......

I bought a pair of Ruger 77 Stainless Mk2, in 260 back in the early 2000s.... The stainless only came with the Zytel Stock. Each one I paid less than $300 for, brand new in the box...
Local store had each of them.... got them for cheap as they had been on the shelves for a year or more.
anyone who looked at them, would ask WTF is a 260 Rem?
no one knew around here... but I did, so that is why I got them both for less than the $300...
one got a Boyd's laminate stock...
I use to by the Stainless Rugers with a Zytel stock because they were cheaper than the laminate stock model. I'd replace them with the grey laminate Boyd's stock.... I use to give away the Zytel stocks, as I hated them... only have two of them anymore. gave away about 10 of them for free, most of them going to campfire members.

If somebody offered me $600 for it, I’d be stoked.
What could be a sadder way to end a life than to die having never hunted with great dogs, good friends and your family?

wouldn't sell either of my Ruger 260s for a grand. ain't a darn thing a Creedmoor would do that my 260 Rem won't do.... and certainly the Creedmoor won't do it any better.
and yeah, I'm a handloader, so factory ammo availability is zero concern to me...

Had one on order in early 2000's an cancelled it because I already had many 260's. Kicked myself for it. If I remember correctly, the 260 is one of the rare calibers in the boat paddle stock.

and yeah, I'm a handloader, so factory ammo availability is zero concern to me... My only regret is not having bought more of these rifles back when people were giving them away. I've purchased four - 22/250 (used), 260 (new), 270 (used), and 280 (used). I have a total of about $1500 into all four of them. All are accurate enough for what I bought them to do. The 260 is the only one I've done anything to - I freefloated the barrel and put in a Timney in an attempt to get groups under an inch. In the end, all it needed was for Barnes to introduce their 120gr TTSX. The person I bought the 22/250 from had rather "graciously" put sling studs into it's stock - that prompted me to pick up a extra stock for it (another $40 added to the tab). Gave the 270 to my sister, so she'd stop borrowing my other rifles. My brother borrowed the 22/250 to use for coyotes. It's unlikely that any of them will ever be put up for sale, but if I should....I'll be asking a LOT more than some of the prices listed in the above comments.... Kaiser Norton

I remember seeing gun racks full of those boat paddle stocked rifles... It seemed like nobody wanted them.
I bought one in a .22mag. I scoped it... didn't really like it at all at first... I thought it was goofy. The gun will clover leaf holes all day.. I love the gun, I love the stock.
If I wold put a value on my .22mag boat paddle... I would say....$800.00 That being said... it's not for sale. Some day, my estate will be selling it.
Well... we have come to the point.... where... the parasites are killing the host. It's only a matter of time now.
