My suck arse boss and his crooked suck arse boss, during the company layoffs..........called each employee into a meeting with them, and asked if they heard the corporate speech the week before. Even if you said yes, they had some checklist thing, where they repeated it.
In the middle of their blabber I told them again that I heard it, and to just say "yes" or "no".
The upper boss started in with the speech again and I cut him off.
Told him either I was fired or not, the decision already made, and to keep running his fugging mouth was an insult. My immediate boss shook his head and uttered some BS.
I told him to STFU.
Business is business. But insulting people's intelligence and or lying to them (they did both) is unacceptable.
I walked out. Took care of my customers up to my departure date. Was done before lunch. Dumped my laptop and badge and keys on boss's desk and took my box o chit out the gate.
He was at lunch, and got all p*zzy I guess because he didn't get to check off the "exit interview" box.

One constant I've noticed through the years:
1) Every employee that got shiet canned was employee of the year and they were only fired because the boss was an idiot. .
2) Every employer that ever had anyone quite on them suddenly was shocked, because they were employer of the year. Best boss, GREAT pay, treated employees like GOLD.
So in short, only the best employees get fired and only the best employers have high turn around.

Our part of the company, was highest profit maker in the group. But we also had big developmental costs. To inflate other groups, they simply stopped development. We were the sacrificial cash cow. Laid off with hundreds at one time. There were layoffs before and after.
Your work ethic or performance played no part. Majority of those fired had right around 14 yrs in.
The plant is a ghost town now. There was a reform/split......one group still trying to make a go of it. That's the one that asked if I'd consider coming back.
Zero security. Even if they paid me twice what I make now..........no way. Got a sick kid that needs good insurance.

People in appointed positions resign.
Blue collar people that want a change quit.
I wouldn't be dumb founded by it coming via text. It is 2019.

"Good job" means going above and beyond.
For many younger folks, "good job" means barely performing to the job description.

For many younger folks, "good job" means barely performing to the job description. Define "younger folk."

Has resign by letter handed to me. As an employee...I don't have to do anything I don't choose to. When you die, your obit will get read an awful lot less than your job posting, and the job posting will likely be published first.
