Or no brains..... In Naval air having a “special instrument card” officially means you can take off in any weather, even 0/0. What it really means is that when you get your “special card” you have more sense than that😀

Is a joke methinks. Friend of mine, an Army chopper jockey gave it to me with a smile some years ago. Curiously enough I spoke with one of your kind years ago, an F8 pilot, who described a night launch in rough seas and near 0/0 conditions. Made me a little queasy it did. Would personally prefer a night LZ , blacked out, with red and green tracers providing visual reference.

Pretty gun Shrapnel. Details please? Sako L46 action from a Sako 222. Then modified to handle 223 cartridges with a Lilja chrome moly, fluted barrel and select American Walnut stock. Built by Dennis Olson, Plains, Montana...

Dennis Olson is a hell of a gunsmith. He's lining my 22 Hi-Power barrel so it can shoot true .224" bullets.

You cowboys are blessed with at least a couple of excellent 'Smiths out that way. Olson and Erhardt are both top of the hill as far as I'm concerned.

Wow. You have some gorgeous guns Shrapnel. Nice to see someone actually use them and not just stick them in the safe.

There are old pilots, and there bold pilots. But there are no old, bold pilots! (Is that a skeleton flying the plane? - Maybe just a Deadhead)
