Rarely are they seen at my salt lick. Last week I saw 2 deer AT the block late in the afternoon. There are a few tracks and mostly made at night. This pic WAS last Fall and the deer tracks are more visible. This month I put out my 1st salt block for the year. My horses love to bite and lick the block. You have to look close to see deer tracks. However deer prefer to dig and lick the salt from the DIRT rather than OFF the block. This pic is just a few feet on the downhill side where the salt has dissolved into the dirt. There are 2 Mountains bracketing Hot Springs. One is just a scenic drive with overlooks. The other is called Tower Mountain or North Mountain. There are hardly any overlooks on Tower Mtn but it's a beautiful CROOKED drive. It was SO NICE to get out and enjoy a terrific day on Harley.
