Thank you GWB, I got your call but the signal was bad out there. It was a really fun time. Some big steep country with lots of Bear.
No doubt. Well, some consolation, I got in a new toy! Browning B-78, 300 H&H. and Zero'd the night vision on the Armalite 308 at 100 yds. and switched the thermal to my 300 B/O and got it dialed in. 10 Rounds @ 50 yds. ya! GWB One of my favorite rifle GW... Absolutely gorgeous badass rifle in a cool caliber!!!
Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

Mighty Fine! Not to be muadlin, but a thought. I'd imagine a lot of you guys get to see sights like that quite often. Being as I mainly hunt Texas, sights like that are few and far between. I did a bear hunt with Drummond Lindsey and Rick Menefee a few years back. It had came a 500 year flood about a week before and evidently chased most of the bear out of the canyons where the hunt was conducted in Northeastern New Mexico. IIRC the second morning we got out plenty early and were set up well before daybreak. We were set up on the rim of a canyon with a stream running through it. The rim of the opposite side of the canyon was due east and was a good 500 yds. Just as the sun was topping the rim a bull similar to the one in you picture walked out near the edge and started bugling. As close to a religious experience as I have come in a long time. Had the wrong lens with me at the time so no pix of the bull....... ya! GWB

Man, it’s too hot here and our Rifle WT season doesn’t start until in OCT. It’s too early for me to see PIX like those. Great. Jerry

I think that is the other side of the river. I believe Sled Springs takes 7 to 8 years on average to draw. I could be wrong.

Used to hunt sled springs as a kid for Muleys. Pard drew a elk tag there for rifle a few years ago, said it was a shiit show. Oregon is fuucked, they let the spike bull hunters hunt the same time as the big bull hunters, which is stupid. Washington lets the big bull guys hunt a week before the spike guys come in... we used to hunt whiskey creek, mccalister ridge area down there

But yup, if I was a big bull tag holder I’d much rather it just be the 50 branched antlered tag holders in the unit myself. Still, an awesome place to hunt elk and I don’t have the patience to wait 20 years to draw a bull tag so I’ll slum the spikes every now and again and just enjoy being in that unit.
