Last week at the range!

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

Gettting ready to do a thermal hog hunt, so I loaded up a bunch of 120 gr. Ballistic tips for the 6.5 Grendel

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

They Sucked. What rifle will not shoot B/Tips. Well I found one that did not like my recipe.

So if your first effort sux, try, try, try again!

SuperHogster Thermal, 100 yd. Zero

Needed to check the regulation on a Merkel 141 Double, and my first Low Wall

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

Shooting light at the range is done @ 8:30 PM so I had 15 minutes to zero the Low Wall
I think it's gonna work.

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

I was told that the double was spot on at 100 yds using 180 gr. Cor-lokts (30-06 Springfield)
Not hardly, ran out of elevation with the right barrel POI about 12" above POA, with left barrel another 4" high and 12" to the right, so no pix.

I was foolish enough to let a Colt 38 Super follow someone else home a while back, so when I spied this one, (unfired) LNIB, with two additional Chip McCormick Mags, I could not resist.

Put 100 rounds through it. Worked flawlessly

The Kimber has been a different story.

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

As of my last session, I have +/- 700 rounds down the tube.
First time I was able to run a box through it with no failure to feed,'

About time!

Although I did not kill anything other than time and a few brewski's, it was a pretty good week.

ya!

+1. Knew a guy that had Oorang Airedale’s and used them with hounds on bear. They were pretty damn badass dogs. Right there with Bouviers

She and a buds big male were hell on anything they ran onto that needed killing.

He still has the male plus a pup that's shaping up to be a little badass. I think he is maybe 11 months old and killing coons by himself.

With Caroline & Nathan visiting from Toronto, we decided on a guided pontoon boat for Friday morning !

Easiest way to accommodate the 7 of us & fish in comfort.
