A couple of nights ago I entered into a raffle for a Cooper Long Range .28 Nosler. It was $56 bucks to enter but thought if I accidentally won it, it would be well worth the money. The stars must have been aligned right because I won that baby. I’m pretty stoked though it’s going to be a month or two before I can afford to scope it.

I’m leaning toward a Nightforce SHV 5-20x56 but have no experience with Nightforce..

Was also just wondering if there are any particulars I need to keep in mind when dealing with Coopers or the .28 Nosler as I have no experience with either of those as well.

My current Long Range set up is a Weatherby 6.5-300 with a VX3i 4.5-14 CDS.. I’m comfortable to 600 yards with that set up and don’t plan on shooting at animals much past that with this set up. I know 600 yards isn’t really long range in todays world but I want to ring steel and target shoot to 1000.

Anyhow, thanks for the advice in advance...

Todd

Congrats! I have 3 SHV scopes, and 5-20x56 would make that Nosler a nice addition.

Sweet!

I have a Nightforce SHV and love it. Mine has the MOAR reticle and it is very easy to use. The clarity, even in the SHV line, has to be seen to be appreciated.

You'll have no mechanical problems hitting what you shoot at out past 1,000 yards with that rifle and scope!

Congrats on winning a great rifle, you must be stoked! I almost never win anything, as always, I bought 10 $1.00 raffles at the Meeker sight in range to help the cause. I ended up winning a Browning A-Bolt in 243 and a 4-12 Nikon scope, I'm pretty happy.
