Not sure why you allowed him back because he is a real ass. Seems to think he knows more than anyone, his stuff is better than anyones, and want's to criticize anyone who doesn't agree with him. His [bleep] is getting real old.

So what are you going to ban next...knives...firearms...free speach?

You are not being forced to read his posts, and if you do then that is on you.

Personally I generally don't.

Put him on ignore if you don't like his posts.

I think he really needs this place. He isn't the most stable guy. I think it is actually a relief valve for him to come here and berate people for their preferences, and pick up a few who appreciate his experience. He's quite knowledgeable, and that is a valuable thing to have on this forum. He posts pictures that many enjoy as well. I ignore him when he gets really abusive.

No point in getting him kicked off, unless you want to prove you're more intolerant than he is. Remember that it is the middle of winter up there in AK, and while being really cold, it is also dark most of the time. BS is just doing what he needs to do to stay sane. Why would you want to take that away? Are gun owners and patriots now just sniveling tattlers?

He knows his stuff about guns, he suffers fools lightly, pay him a salary to keep him.

I'm on record as having said numerous times that if it were not for B, I'd have not posted anywhere near as much as I have over the last 10 years.
He makes a great foil.

Perhaps his "schtick" is getting a bit old, but what the hey! Everybody's gotta be somewhere.

ya!

Put him on ignore if ya want but I dont put people on ignore. I just go right past his posts. Also, Big Stick does not know nearly what most think he knows . He is just good at being a big mouth. Also, I i dont argue with him cause he is two different persons , I think. I think sometimes his kid gets on, using is name and runs his mouth so a lot of times it just isn't him, it's some teenager. If it is him, he is mentally unstable. I say this cause there are definitely two different personalities , or maybe even three . If you get him mad, he may lash out to someone innocent on the streets or his kids or a neighbor, and that is real. I am surprised everyone thinks he knows so much . He just posts the same stuff over and over. I posted about accuracy in rifles and he does no know his stuff like he thinks he does. Anyone can " kiss, find pressure and rock on", for example. That does not make for an accurate rifle in itself by no means. Just ignore him, he is not likely to go away and if you kick him off he will come back as something else. He is also another name already too.

I agree, the folks that think he’s a “rifle genius “ I gotta wonder wtf ??? Shiit really isn’t hard, it’s only as hard as ya make it. He doesn’t do a whole lotta huntin, and he sure as fuuck doesn’t shoot competition, just busts rocks of unknown sizes at ranges game shouldn’t be shot at in the first place....

Gee! Put on your Big Girl Undies.
Some peoples kids. If you not care for BS then put him ignore. I see lots of people jump on his post, start to talk about having him on ignore, yet they know everything he has talked about.
Unbelievable.
Some of you, must have something better to do today.

Wishing you all the best.

I have no problem with Big Stick. Just as everybody else here he gets to post what he wants and we can either agree, disagree, ignore or whatever. Not much different than many with their political comments. We are all adults and need not be offended by the free speech of another. I have yet to see where his opinion(s) has diminished my ability to my own opinion(s), nor my ability to think or speak it. Now, that, would tick me off. I will say, I don't always understand his comments. But he is not alone in that category and it doesn't bother me at all.

If you are going to start banning or blocking people for their ideas, opinions or what they post - then this forum will start down the path that many others have gone before. Many good people will drop away and I would hate to see that. So many diamonds in and amongst the rubble on this forum that its loss would be very sad indeed. (i would estimate a high percentage of diamonds to rubble compared to any other site.)

As I see it, he does know more than the vast majority here. There is no question there.

For a site that the majority claim to be the strong independent types, he sure gets you panties in a wad in a hurry.

I have asked advice of the guy a number of times and he has been spot on. I unfortunately do not have the time to shoot and play like I'd like. So I appreciate a guy that can cut through the [bleep] and knows his stuff. Deflave is the same way. Guys that shoot a lot. Know their crap but piss a bunch of uptight a$$holes off. There is no doubt they are a great resource here. Far more so than a lot of the miserable a$$holes that frequent this place with no contribution other than to spread their misery.

Stick is kind of like Walt, he knows some of your buttons and when he pushes these buttons, it is a Pavlovian response of a bunch of hurt snowflakes.

Don't like him, don't read his stuff. Pretty damn simple. Grow the hell up.

I don't care for the way he talks with folks, when he gets rolling, but I'd never ban him. It's like kicking a dog for licking his balls in public, it's just who he is, and some folks just can't help the Verbal tourette's syndrome, that spews forth when thier lips part. I doubt I will ever understand the colored tape and the rifles sunk in stream pics. (But no one really understood Salvador Dali either, with the melting clocks and surreal view of life. Much of Art, music, dance, would be down right boring if it continued down predictable/traditional lines. )
Use the knowledge he is willing to share, and just accept the fact that he has difficulty relating with folks in a polite way. What you see is what you get, deal with it, or move on, because he can't force you to read what he writes.
Personally, I have no one on ignore, (though a few make that decision debatable). I'm capable of deciding for myself, if I should respond or not, when someone is being an ass.

Not that I care , but what does he really know about guns that is not well known and common knowledge? Just asking. Is it the " Kiss, find pressure and rock on"? Or is it " buuulllitts are faaaar more important than headstamps" that has so many impressed with this guy? Again, not that I care much, just wondering while I sit next to my fire.

The guy is a complete idiot. I hope he’s gone for good now. If he could contribute info, knowledge, or experience like most others do, then he’d be worth having around. Unfortunately, if he does indeed have something to share, he just can’t do it. He has what appears to be a texting version of Tourette Syndrome.

I've spent too much of my life in urban California and NYC. If I learned anything from being surrounded by people who said stuff that I didn't believe in/care for/want to hear, it's that tuning out the noise is really easy.

There are a few people here whose posts I enjoy reading, and I admit that I enjoy watching the banter between those who take Stick to task and Stick. Then again, I still laugh at Beavis and Butthead and I'm a Jew who enjoys good Holocaust jokes.

I am happy that censorship is very limited on this site. One can learn a lot from reading things that mean nothing to you or even annoy you, as long as you remain in control of the off button. I probably come here in large part because there is so little moderation.

This site, to me, is equal parts information and entertainment. When it comes to Stick, it's pretty much all entertainment, especially when those who respond to him take off the gloves. I've only blocked one person on this site, and it was because he was neither informative nor entertaining.

Just put him on ignore. And when you need some mindless abuse, or just need an easy target, toggle a few and read his BS. Pun was on purpose. I'm sure some folks have me on ignore. Some how it doesn't seem too painful. Matter of fact, is has no bearing on my life at all. Rusty

Stick is like a bell, pull his rope and he makes noise.

I like to play songs with him.

Lately he has seemed a little human, and not as fun to antagonize.

Shouldn't do it, it's not nice and not even a fair match.
But it's fun.

There is no doubt that BS knows quite a bit about rifle mechanics, ballistics and aspects of ballistic behavior and cartridge performance. I would concede that he is well versed in these areas. From a practical field hunting standpoint most of his discussion and opinion means a great deal less. His opinions always center around "shooting" and not "hunting" per say. For some hitting targets or perhaps game animals at 600-800 yards he may have some sound advice. For others who readily kill game inside 300-400 yards his advice is less needed. Everyone has individual preferences, his work on .224, .243 and .284 centerfire cartridges has merit, but he gives no accommodation to others who use the same bore size without his preferential cartridges. In the hunting field all the fast twist and G1 aspects become somewhat less important. Individual merit in the field along with markmanship become much more important. If using a 243 Win (1-10" twist) in lieu of 6mm Creedmoor (1-7.5" twist) makes you a dumbass in BS opinion, than his opinion doesn't mean much. Are there merits in going to a 6mm Creedmoor per BS recommendations, perhaps, but not in most instances in the game field at 300 yards. BS must realize to each his own, providing guidance is key to the forum, providing responses with insults because someone doesn't particularly abide by his recommendations is ineffective and leads to personal attacks by him and against him, which devolves the forum into a place you no longer wish to participate in. I for one would like to keep him on the forum because he does have significant knowledge in the realm of recent cartridge development and reloading, I wish he could keep his head and convince folks to try things his way in lieu of debasing them for having a difference of opinion. I will admit my interest in the 22 Creedmoor and building a 6mm Creedmoor are due to some of BS recommendations. Keep BS around, but lets keep it civil and respectful, if possible. I realize I have few posts to his 40K plus, but shared communication is the reason for a forum to exist in the first place.

Can't speak for Fred, but she doesn't rent shiit from me. I however, love calling flipping her [bleep] and calling her out on her lies, which with her redundant bullshiit ain't hard. This has been going on longer than most have been members here, 10-12 years or better, I actually get quite a few laughs out of it personally. Why let a rogue cuunt flip shiit on everyone and not give any back? Never been good at taking shiit, guess it's one of my faults???....

Snowed in and avoiding doing something useful so will comment.

Stick knows a lot more about rifles, optics, reloading, shooting, photography and several kinds of hunting than I do. I have learned from him here on the campfire, especially in his early years here, and through personal contact. I am not sure why he morphed into such a scratchy mode after several years of more civil exchanges, but why does not matter.

He has a life beyond internet with its own stresses and he obviously got tired of suffering fools -- to the point of instant flashback. He has a quick intuitive read of people that is accurate more often than not, but he can be stubborn when he reads somebody wrongly. His creative command of English is hilarious, though difficult to translate in recent years, and he has coined phrases in wide use.

I consider him a distant friend, who has done me good with no bad, though haven't read one of his posts in months. He must be posting where I seldom look.

As others have said, if you don't like what he posts, don't read it. A post complaining about the guy is a puzzlement to me, not about Stick but about the poster. I ignore a number of people on this forum, (though not the entertaining Stick) but have never used the ignore feature. It ain't that hard. If a poster is a consistent jerk, dull witted, usually wrong, predictable in what he will say and boring, I know that whatever he posts is a waste of my time so I don't waste time on his posts. Try it.

Lot's of people I dislike, even some here, and stick and his insults and "hints" are high in that list. However unless somebody just has to quote his drivel I seldom see it.
If Rick ever sees fit to ban him, I may smile and be happy but in the meantime he's just another loud waste elimination orifice that isn't doing me any harm.

By now, doesn't everyone realize that Stick's gonna do what Stick's gonna do? The whiners need to put a little more starch in their BVD's. Deflave made a living off of telling everyone to GFY and didn't incur half the wrath Stick has. If you don't like his comments, don't read them.

Name calling is inappropriate behavior in civilized company. It degrades the whole experience here at the 'Fire. Whatever knowledge and expertise Big Stick brings to the platform is negated by name calling. I don't find it amusing or acceptable.

Jerseyboy: You are right on - I contend the CampFire would be better off and attract better folks if dippschidt (he called me names first!) dipstick were eliminated/flushed.

I hate the way Stick treats people, but I gotta admit I like punishing him for it. I especially like it when I can tell he's so mad he has spittle running down his chin.
As for people who think he knows so much, I give you this set-up. It is useless for anything other than making neck cricks and (maybe) shooting off a bipod. LOL!

laugh I'm sorry, I just can't help but laugh! This is the reason you keep BS around.

I can just about see him shooting with the ocular touching his beady little eye. laugh

Yes, if you haven't noticed, I've posted several pms about his lying bullshiit.... I'm gonna go out on a limb, and say, that's probably a staged pic, like a lot of the other ones..... Not hard to read through the bs....pun intended

I don't like how he derails someone else's thread because he doesn't like a comment or person. He's verbally abusive and in this day and time that makes one a liability. This place is much better without him imo. I actually enjoy some of what he has to offer and he know's more about guns than I'll likely ever but he doesn't ad more value than grief. Not to mention the stupid broken grammar that he thinks is so cute, hint... Good riddance.

And that makes what difference?

The only way you can shoot that is from a bench or pod. Even then, it's still a poor setup, especially if you hunt and shoot from improvised field positions. I'd love to see you try to shoot sitting with that setup. Folks who actually shoot out of their hands and try to do their best at it don't set up guns like that because it's stupid. The fact that the stock is collapsed makes it worse. I give him the benefit of the doubt that the stock is collapsed just for the photo. If he had the scope set up correctly, collapsing the stock would be a good thing for shooting offhand. But it's obvious he has no clue.

My club has what we call a "sporter" match where all kinds bring whatever they got. I see a lot of guns set up like that. It's always a [bleep]-show always with the same problems. It's easy to tell who shoots and who doesn't.

I noticed his attempts to hi jack other threads and it is annoying. Especially when people tell him to stay off.

Maybe we need a function to block people from posting on your threads? (hint.... Rick)

I'm still curious what his occupation is because I thinks he's a trust fund baby.

Well said Jersey Boy. Why does the 99% of us have to put up with the 1%. The fire had calmed down from abusive posters until you let "Big Stick" out of Jail.

I start reading a thread and once Stick chimes in I just have to leave.....just not fun anymore.

Yeah well I don't care for BS's attacks, but bringing up personal tragedies isn't any better. A lot of things said on the internet wouldn't be said in real life. I just ignore him. We could all benefit by being civil in our conduct.

There IS a lot that's said on the internet that wouldn't be said F-T-F. But then if we were all F-T-F, Fug Stick would have been spitting his teeth by now.

Everyone needs to take step back. The media and liberals are at war we free speech now. If they don’t like what someone says ( hate speech ) in their view. It should be banned. I don’t think we as a group should join to restrict free speech. If you don’t like if, ignore it.
