Is there a dandy unit out there I should know about? Need to go to about 2900psi for a Diana Stormrider.

Thanks.

The cheap, under $50 Chinese hand pumps found on ebay or Amazon seem to have decent reviews on airgun forums. Rebuild kits (o-rings) are available as well. Keep it lubed and don't pump too fast.

I have a Benjamin hand pump that was included with a used Discovery rifle that works well. It's probably no better than the cheap ones. It's probably a good idea to have a desiccant cartridge installed to remove water but I don't have one. Mine is just used to top off guns if my 4500psi tank is running low.

Do you have access to an SCBA tank and compressor, e.g. as used by all firefighters? If so, then this is MUCH easier: 6000PSI CGA347 Paintball PCP SCBA Fill Station Charging Adapter With 24'' Hose. Depending on the SCBA, it may only give you 2200psi into your Diana, but it will give you MANY fills. If not, or even if so, this cheapo has been working for me to go from zero in I-lost-count-of-how-many-pumps or to top off from 2200psi to 3k in about 50 pumps: 3 Stage PCP 4500PSI Air Gun Rifle Filling Stirrup Pump Hand Pump Pressure Gauge. Keep in mind that it is real work to put in even only 50 pumps. If you are going from zero, then take a couple of breaks to let you and the pump cool off.

Appreciate it... Mainly wanted to try a pump and see how I like the rifle before possibly investing in a tank. There's so many neat air rifles out nowadays! Daughter will be learning on the Red Rider soon and Dad needs to play too. I had thought she was ready but it's huge for her. She's getting more excited about it, me too. I bought a CO2 pellet repeater too. LOL

I have a Benjamin pump that I bought with a Marauder and blew the seals, I tried replacing all the o-rings and it still would not build pressure so I bought an Amazon China'loca special, it works as good or better than the Benji and pumps to 230 bar that is max for the FX.

I bought a air rifle SCBA tank and I can get 10,000 shots with a match rifle per fill up. I also lucked into a high pressure gasoline SCBA compressor so I am set. But really you only need a 4500psi/300BAR scba tank, and most fire departments will fill you up for a small donation. Even a SCBA tank is a ton cheaper than 22s.
Another option is a 3300 psi scuba tank, they are cheap. Use that tank, and top off with a hand pump. Hand pump necessarily have a lot more moisture than a compressed tank. Some airgun manufactures prohibit hand pumps and using one will void warranty.

Most Scuba shops will fill to 3600-3800 hot, but when they cool off the pressure drops several hunderd PSI. Some but certainly not all Shops can get to 4000 plus and hit 300BAR however as an avid diver, dive instructor, and rescue diver I'll tell you that there are far more shops that cannot get to 4000psi than there are that can get to 4500. Nobody dives with scuba tanks that go to 4000PSI so no shops have compressors that automatically compress air pressure that high. The great majority have a shut off at about 3750PSI. Only DIN first stage regulators in Scuba can go to 300BAR Yoke max out at 250 psi pressure limits. Even so I've never seen a Scuba tank in 30 years certified for use over 3500PSI to put into the perspective why so few shops will be able to fill over 4000PSI or get to 300BAR especially when cold!

Granted 4000 plus is a hot fill pressure, so what you measure at that moment in the shop is not what you will have in an hour at 50-70 degrees F. I will routinely over fill a common new standard high pressure tanks rated at 3450 up tp 3750PSI

In 45 minutes at 70 ambient temp they can be down to 3350-3400 and then when they hit the 50-60 degree water they will drop to 3225 -3275. That same tank at 3300psi in my truck will be 3850psi in 40-60 minutes parked in the sun.

So just be aware that the pressures you are reading are very temp sensitive, and that many of shops will struggle to get over 4000 PSI much less 4500!
