Hello Folks,
I recently contacted the border stations close to my home with no luck on this subject..
I’ve hunted bears in Canada with never an issue or thought of barrel length restrictions.
I am intrigued by the marlin 1895 trapper with a factory 16.25” barrel. From what a I read, 18.5” is the minimum restriction, but on another subject I found a place where “factory un-modified” rifles are allowed to “xx” inches..
Hoping someone has a firm answer because the border patrol agents are clueless..
MK

MMM We can get a folding stock now you see 26 inches and now you don't!! But that 8.5 barrel shot gun is fantastic The balance of the stock and the short barrel really comes up fast and fitsss Did I say fits great for a shot!!

MK The Marlin Trapper you described is legal to use in Canada. Centerfire Semi-automatics must have a minimum barrel length of 18.5" F

https://nfa.ca/2005/02/25/barrel-and-firearms-lengths/ Read the second part about factory made rifle barrels. I think your good to go since it left the factory in that state and was never modified.

It is better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.
