I have a question for owners of such a rifle! What can one expect in max but safe loading of various wt. bullets for this rifle as to velocity? Thank you for your time. Cheers NC

You can expect about 300 fps more velocity over the pistol loads. For example, in the gun I had, the Hornady 300 grain factory xtp mag load would garner 2000 fps.
Handloads I could duplicate this with a max load of H!10. The only problem with my gun was that it would break cases into two pieces with hot loads like that. Most people I spoke to did not have that problem with factory loads in their similar guns. Winchester and some factory loads are anemic. I sent my gun back to Braz Tec and they said they put a new barrel on it, however, the new barrel did the same thing. These are great guns if you get a good one. Mine would shoot 45 LC fine with hot loads 300 grain bullets at 1600 no problem, it would really put the smack on whitetails. I sold it to a fellow who just wanted to shoot 45 lc in it. .

Hey, hope everyone is having a good day!!! Ya I have one 92-454. Shoots good, 300 xtps at 2000 fps. Knocks the crap out of bear!!!! but that's all I've shot with it! To be honest these 300 gr loads were from a previous gun, same same but I lost my crony to a hunting accident (no were not talking about it) !?! This one shoots the same loads as my last one with no pressure signs. This one has the nicest bluing I've seen on any rifle in a long time. To bad they put a spruce wood stock on it!!! Curious maybe you guys can help me? If I could find a nice walnut stock off a Winchester 92 would it fit the Rossi maybe? kinda? Sort of? Bill, PS this one has no safety just the half cock. I've used the 250 gr. lead cast bullets with trail boss for fun shooting & teaching frogs how to fly, if can hit right beside them they get some good air time! 🐾👣

36.2 gr of 296 pushing a 300 gr XTP mag for my spouse 's reloads. He thinks it's getting 1765 fps.
He has both maunfacturers, 2 rifles.
Knocks down hogs with ease. No issues with brass and not a light load by any means. I shoot the rifles but not his Freedom Arms 454 pistol.

I would post some pics of hogs taken with the Rossi 454 but can't figure it out, this forum is not pic friendly.
