I'm primarily a bowhunter so this is a pretty big deal to me. I've read his stuff since the early 80s and watched his vids. Helped get me motivated enough to take western trips for elk, deer, antelope, mountain goat etc for the last 30 years.
Very good guy devoid of any arrogance. Great hunter, great writer.
Dwight, will be sorely missed. To me, he was a home town boy from southern Oregon. He wrote well, taught well and was always entertaining to read. I looked forward to his articles and seeing that he had a story in a magazine guaranteed I would be buying it. I loved seeing him in videos. He was always soft spoken and genuine. I’d see him and Larry D Jones at the sportsman shows. Both seemed humble and real. Just good people. Bt53

I had no idea that was Dwight Shuh but after watching it that sure is him. Back in the day I would buy any magazine that had an article by Dwight, I really enjoyed reading them and looking at the pictures of his hunts. He and Jack O'Connor are what inspired me to hunt the west.
He was my favorite writer when I was into bowhunting. Sorry to hear he died.
Dwight didn't get caught up in what an animal scored or any of that garbage that seems so prevalent today. It was about the hunt, the animals, and enjoying the outdoors with him. It came through in his writing.
Weird, I was just thinking of him yesterday and wondered what happened to him. I hadn't heard anything about him in some time. Used to really enjoy his articles and his book Bugling for Elk was a good one. RIP.

RIP Dwight Shuh, say hello to Fred for us.
Met Dwight and spoke to him in the 80’s and early 90’s. Great humble guy and a gentleman and a heck of a hunter
I had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with Dwight at the 2005 Pope and Young convention. He was very gracious. I've been reading Bowhunter magazine since the mid '80s and always enjoyed his articles. RIP Dwight.
