I am always looking for early 1920 s three hundred savages, and 303 s. Especially takedowns.

Well, I'll recognize my status in our group, by asking for more details about the silver straight-grip D&T'd takedown, (..and gasp, recoil pad). And the short-barreled one right above it, also D&T'd

Jeff found a card I grabbed from the table and sent him a link to the pics I posted. I have no more info other than the pics. But do have a contact info from the card that was on the table. Kurt

Got a response from a text I sent owner will respond to questions after the show is over today.

If I remember correctly, the silver one with straight stock is a .284 Win, but I can't remember the price he was asking a few weeks ago for it. That table looks a little smaller than the one last month, I guess he thinned some out.

a 284 with a takedown forearm..?? Hmm, I wonder what's hiding under the forearm, and who would put together that sort of thing?? Thanks for bird-dogging these KK-AK and Hudge. I'm not seeing many tables like this around here, except at the fests!

Ok guys.. made it..;) send us an email to HandC.Collectorsgmail.com

I’ll send an updated list of what we have. These were my fathers in Texas and recently located to Alaska. We have pulled the two we want to keep. Please pay attention to the scope mounts on some, scopes and if you have any questions please let us know.

It was recommended that I buy the latest book on savages and I did. I have research most but am by no means an expert on anything (well hunting ducks maybe..;)

Thanks for your interest and to KK Alaska for his brief education on what we have .

Hugh

Contact for Savages and rifles in pics
[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]
99 calibers I saw 22 Hipower, 32-40, 303 kinda neat half octagon Crescent Butt Plate rifle is in 32-40
Also had lots of Colt SA parts, Lugers Stehr Manclicher and a Win 70 early in 22 Hornet looked original.

Rumor has it that a lot of the Savage parts went to Oregon to some guy named Roy!!

Does the 99 E in 303 look correct short barrel and dull blue on recv. ?

That 99E looks like an early 99H. If it's an E someone not only D&T'd it but ground the cheek pieces and the scnable off. Good choice of book. Was it for sale too?

I think that "99E" has an after market buttstock. Maybe just cut stock.. but I'd guess aftermarket. Looks like the barrel was cut also.

He'll be hauling those around for quite a while, I think.

The half octagon is a Savage 1899C. Looks like it's been sanded and refinished, so while it's cool.. it also has no real collector value.

The 1899A had a 26" round barrel and crescent buttplate as standard, the 1899B had an octagon barrel, the 1899C had a half-round/half-octagon barrel. The 1899B and 1899C were made up to WWI.

I think I know who you're talking about. Their dad was a member here, RClark, or something similar??? You guys would remember him I'm sure. I bought some of their dads guns, barrels, parts, and lots of ammo and reloading supplies. He's the one that had that 35-30/30 with the silver finish. He posted a photo of it with a deer he killed with it.

*Just read the whole thread, you guys got it. I bought the 284 double diamond 99DL in the photo. A hard one to find.
