Most of the sales are just starting. Colorado sale is today. $170.00 was the high and $1.00 was the low for coyotes Bobcats high was $1350.00 and low was $6.00.
I had hopes of selling a $1350 bobcat, but the buyer told me that WA bobs don't bring anywhere near that much. If I zap one I'll be having a nice rug made instead.
Over the last ten years some very nice bobcats have sold for over a thousand bucks. That said most good ones go for 300-$500. The average would be closer to 200-$300. Where they come from makes a big difference. The prices I mention are from the western part of the country. In other parts of the country the prices may be as low as $30. Its all in the fur, the size and the spots.
Coyote- East Texas, North Louisiana around $7.00. No rubs on back or weak bellies. Do not skin junk. No unskinned Coyotes please.
Bobcat-Up to $25.00 on better Louisiana and East Texas. Please note the value of the cat is the white spotted belly. A narrow bellied or smokey bellied cat will not bring much. A cat that is brought in wet or dirty will not bring a good price. We will buy unskinned cats. Bobcat fur primes up after Christmas and most stay good until early March.
Beaver-Down some from last year's average, price is $5.00. Whole unskinned beaver. $4.00.
Beaver Castor-Clean, no oil sacks or fat-$18-$20 per pound green. This will need to be semi thawed so we can grade it. Fatty castor will be much lower!
Grey Fox-Still cheap. Prices about $5.00.
Red Fox-No good news, may bring about the same as Grey Fox.
Otter-Better Otter $18.00. Unskinned Otter up to $13.00.
Mink and Muskrat-Prices are very bad, don't harvest.
Opossum- No value.
Skunk- No value.
Coons-No market. We will stock at about $1.00 average on good stuff.
Old Turd- Deplorable- Unrepentant Murderer- Domestic Violent Extremist
No idea on what furs bring today but for a blast from the past the best I ever did on Colorado cats was $7,980 for 11 cats in 1978 or 79. Long before a lot of folks on this site were born.

I was 7 or 8 then and ran a trapline with my neighbor. Mostly Fox, Coon, and Muskrats. I remember giving my mom the money. She said where did you get that? I told her from trapping with Jim. She didn't believe me so went next door and asked him. He was in his in his mid 20's I think then. he said yes he earned that from helping me run my trapline. My mom told him it wasn't necessary I just loved being outdoors. Which was true. Anyways mom told me I could keep it. I told her it's for her to help pay the bills but she wouldn't take it. Would love to know what Old Jim is up to these days.
Here in Kentucky, you can't even give a bobcat away. A few years ago, a fur buyer was paying $50 for them unskinned. I have been giving the ones I kill to a taxidermist, who would then give me a break on a mount. However, he has passed away, so the one in my freezer is still there.
I just started trapping about ten years ago when I retired and had the time but the best Cat I sold was $750 6-7 years ago.
Last year I only caught one flat weak bellied cat......my fur buyer wouldn't even take it ....so I gave it to a friend so he and his kids could try their hand at home tanning.
Nice pale Coyotes are averaging $100 or better and going up in price (this is for the MT/Alberta prairie Coyotes). A friend got $50 carcass price last week. They will be rubbing pretty soon.
Here is what the high dollar cats look like. Cat on the left is 43" nose to base of tail and 10" wide and will bring somewhere around 13-1500.00. I have avg. 88.29 on 91 coyotes this year

I know this is an older thread, but here are the prices for the auction in Fallon from last year, 2019, if anyone interested. Curious to see what this year brings.
We got a couple yotes Saturday night and I checked the Petska website for prices. Not real current but said northern coyotes were bringing $50-$100 on the cob and $20-$30 if well turned out. Also had a comment from somebody in Kansas who said a buyer offered him $5 a piece for nice bobcats!!’ Petska said little to no demand for ‘cats...wth?

It won't be long now before they start to rub, but you do still have time. Those Montana coyotes should bring more than these eastern Colo. coyotes do, on avg.
Laws aren't preventative measures. In other words, more laws won't prevent gun crime from happening.
How much longer will they stay prime? Or is it too late to start now?
Our coyotes should be similar would think .
Was calling them in western Ks two days ago. My brother traps there. He said they are past prime. We called and shot several. He said not worth putting them on a stretcher.
A friend of mine sold 78 or 79 at the auction in Hugo, CO. and the prices were way below what they had hoped for. Apparently this coronavirus thing in China has really hit the fur market. Anyone else hearing or seeing the same? I'll go to the fur buyer again this coming Tuesday, maybe he'll have the low down on it.

TR I have 15 stretched and dried I was supposed to take to a buyer this weekend. I called ahead and he said don't bother bringing them. The market for eastern fur has completely collapsed due to this KungFlu shiit. I was able to fold them over and get them in my chest freezer for now but who knows haw they will look in the fall.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.
I guess we shouldn't be surprised that the market has collapsed and honestly I won't be surprised if there is no market come this next winter. Guess we'll all have to wait and see how this covid shakes out and how the world economy recovers. I guess cross your fingers that you get to sell them before they freezer burn completely. Would suck to do all that work and not get at least some compensation for it. If it turns out that there is no market for fur next winter, it'll suck, especially after these last few good years. I guess though, I look for the bright spot in it all, there won't be nearly as many hunters out looking to cash in and those of us that just do it because it eats us up will have all the fur bearers to ourselves.

I just GAVE my fur dealer 4 beavers.... free. Good ol' boy dieing of cancer. will be his last year of buying fur and he shows up everyday to do fur. 70 years old.
I sold a batch of 30 put up eastern Montana coyotes the beginning of March. There were half a dozen that were rubbed in the bunch. Couple of those brought $25 each, but I still averaged $85 on the lot.
