I have a trap B 870 ringmaster that I was thinking about getting a rifled slug barrel for to deer hunt with.

Should I be concerned about shooting the much higher recoil slug loads in this shot gun?

No but if it’s a chrome lifter with killer wood don’t mess it up hunting.

I have shot 3 deer with it as is with the 30" barrel with both buckshot and slugs.

I just ordered a rifled slug barrel for a Mossberg 500 that I can use on one of my sons shotguns.

I think I'll save this one for trap and see if I can pull off a 50 with it again.

A TB was my only shotgun for years, bought new in '75. Bought a riot barrel, added sights and hunted deer many times. Ducks, pheasant, whatever. Now, forty-four years and a couple hundred thousand rounds later, all that's left of the original gun is the barrel and butt stock. They will break, you just have to shoot the check out of them.

My late father bought this one around 1979 iirc.

I hunted for a couple years with an 870 trap B with smoothbore slug barrel. Your shoulder will wear out before the gun does.
