I have a Ruger red label in a 20 gauge serial # starting 401. It has a broken hammer strut and I'm at a loss looking for a new one. Ruger is no longer repairing nor has the part for it anymore. Any ideas where a guy could locate a new one? I've looked at numrich but no luck.

Good luck, I haven't heard of anyplace that has Ruger parts. It is possible Ruger has whatever parts were left over from this debacle and a call to them may produce what you are after. I know you said Ruger isn't supporting but a direct call rather than an email might get a different answer. It is worth a try.
Failing that, my next two suggestions are to ask on the Ruger forum to see if anyone there can be of assistance. If no luck,, a competent gunsmith should be able to make the part though the price may seem high. It would help if you had the pieces to copy.

I’ve actually talked with a few people at Ruger a couple times, athough nice not very helpful. I do have have the broken piece and a machinist maybe my best bet. Ashame to see such a common shotgun go to waste.

I am willing to bet that sooner than later some machine shop is going to start producing at least some parts for these. If Ruger isn't going to support them they should give up their drawing to someone with a computerized machine that could pop them out no problem. Never been a huge Ruger fan although I do have a couple 10/22's

You can't squeeze water out of a rock. There is no profit in making these parts for inventory. Find a machinist they can make you what you need. Of course it will cost you. Which leads to is it worth it? At what point is it no longer worth it? It is a Red Label to me it is a disposable gun.

Franks Gun Shop in Canastota, NY has been recommended to me for work on Ruger shotguns, but mine was new enough that I had Ruger do the work. -Jim
