Good friends with Al Kaline and in his Detroit day’s used to come out and take bp and work out. Kaline was quoted as saying Howe could have easily been a MLB regular

Chuck Connors? Hardly the best, I think his stint in the MLB was pretty short. The kid on The Rifleman always bugged the schit outta me. Coulda been a great series without playing up the father/son thing. Connors was a 6'6" badass mofo.

The Greatest Athlete in my long life time was called "Big Red." I was just a little kid but I watched the Belmont that year. I cried because of his greatness. Never will forget that day.

For an all-rounder Snowy Baker. He played Rugby for Australia, took both the middleweight and heavyweight national boxing championships at the age of 18, and represented Australia at the Olympic Games in swimming, diving, and boxing, winning a silver medal in the latter. He was also a champion in polo, water polo, cricket, surfing, fencing, hockey, rowing, yachting and equestrian events.
He moved to California and taught Elizabeth Taylor, Shirley Temple, Greta Garbo and Rudolph Valentino how to ride, fence and swim, and coached Douglas Fairbanks in riding, as well as appearing in several films.
