My first shotgun that was specifically for turkey was a 1300. It has the laminated stock, and is marked Turkey, with a 22 inch barrel. I put a Hastings choke on it, and some fiber optic sights. It patterns better than any other shotgun I've tried, and that includes quite a few. I've used both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells, and killed turkeys past 50 yards with it. These past few years I've been on a 20 gauge kick, but if I had to pick one shotgun that I had 100% faith in to do the job, this one would be it.
Anyone wanting a good turkey shotgun cannot do any better than a 1300.
