Traditions says it's safe with any factory loading. Buffalo Bore has loads in the "level 2" category so that's where I would stay if reloading.

finally found that info. took a while.

have sold my Marlins and my Siamese Mauser , but have about 500 rounds of ammo . most are level 2 so maybe i will pop for one of these. its been 55 years since i was without a 45/70 of one flavor or the other.

I've been looking at these too. Please post up how the accuracy is.

Mine is a rechambered 357 Mag, now 357 Max. I believe it to be the single most accurate single shot rifle I've ever owned. It's amazing!

Thanks, Dinny

How are the triggers? Most reviews say they suck and there is no fix for them.

I found the trigger to be a little heavy (5lb range). It took no time at all to stone it down to 3lbs. That task is exponentially easier on the Traditions than a H&R or TC. The action pins are hidden under the forward ends of the stock and aren't set in by a hydraulic press. I took a few pics with my cell phone before I tore into the trigger but later found I didn't need them for reassembly.

I only wish I would have removed the crossbolt safety while I was in there. It is easily activated by the slightest pressure and doesn't need to be fully pressed to block the trigger.

Thanks, Dinny

Looks like a handy little rifle. Trying to imagine the joy of plinking with a 6# rifle and the .45-70....coming up empty.

Saw they now have a G3 model out. Apparently these have a new trigger system.

I'm glad I have the G2. That new trigger system doesn't appear to be as user adjustable. Hopefully it's a bit lighter straight from the factory.

Thanks, Dinny

That's what I couldn't find- info on weight, adjustability, or tuning on the G3 trigger.
Good news is the G2 price will go down because of the G3. A dealer in Michigan has the 44 camo version for $279

I would make that a 445SM and stomp game dead with it.

Thanks, Dinny

I have the CVA Scout 44. Primarily for the reason I have a youth stock for it as well as the regular length camo set that is on it.
Trigger is good, but it was a bit of a fight getting a load together that it liked.
Got the bullet I wanted to use under 2" groups at 100 yds. and that looks like that is what it is capable of.
For what I need it to do that works.
