Any one ever had it? When you close your hand and the middle finger joint locks up and you can't extend your finger. Take some playing around to get it to unlock.

I had White Finger from running a chainsaw several hours a day for 3 months straight. Then it came back after working for drilling and coring concrete slabs with a schlagbohrer.

I just had another cortisone shot in mine.
It was getting so bad I had a hard time making a fist or a strong grip.
Cortisone helps...a lot.

Mine is on middle bird finger. Orthopedic said I would see Jesus if he had to do cortisone in that finger and knuckle.

Yep. Right ring finger released with simple OP surgery about ten years ago and right middle finger and thumb a few months ago. Now I have it in the left middle and ring fingers. They lock up pretty hard but I think I’ll wait a while for them. Cortisone shots can help for a while. They smart a bit (I mean a lot) even with lidocaine injected into the tendon sheath first but I would try them and see how they work.

Dupuytren’s disease in both hands too thanks to northern UK and Scandanavian heritage 😡

Cut the tip of my trigger finger to the bone a year ago. 8 stitches worth. Now it tingles all the time.

I ran my trigger finger into a bandsaw cutting into the bone and severing tendon 3 months before my Kodiak brown bear hunt.
I wasn't going to let that stop me.

That is the finger I pull a trigger with. Doesn't bother me a bit. Was highly sensitive for 15 years but normal now.... To the most part.

I have it and for a long time it was there every time I closed my hand tightly.
Went away and now comes and goes.
People nearby can hear it when it locks over and me when it does too!

Developed in right hand ring finger when I used walking sticks in both hands hiking in Hells Canyon chasing deer for about 4 days. I had tagged out, so was just along as extra eyes and as a pack animal. The sticks made up hill climbs easier, and hands ached for several days afterward. Rest assured, I'll not do that again. After 3 or 4 years though the effect went away.

I've never had a trigger finger but I had a trigger thumb one time that healed itself in a few months so I never went to the doctor to see what caused it. I'm guessing the cause of a trigger finger is a knot on the tendon that runs on top of your finger from your knuckle to the end joint of your finger. It would be a simple surgery remove the knot if steroids won't shrink it. I'm not an expert of course but I've surgery on 3 of my fingers so I learned a lot about how fingers work.

Got it in my right middle finger. Have three orthopedic surgeon buddies that hunt...all three told me the same thing: it will only get worse, never better, even with cortisone shots. Eventually you will realize that a ten minute outpatient surgery will fix it. Call me when you’re ready. 2-4 week recovery. Good as new.

I’m at that point now. Will get it done late spring/early summer.

Can’t ball up my hand and make a fist...won’t do. Throbs most of the time. Pain only about a 3/10, but I always feel it. Sleeping at night? It hurts like hell then...

Yep, my left ring finger. Had a simple surgery in my Orthopedic Surgeons office. It is a tendon hanging up on the knuckle, no bone involved. He clipped it and its fine now. Whenever I'm asked if I have arthritis in my hands, I say, "No, they scrape it out before it gets too bad", ha. I've got seven places with scars and one piece of fiberglass joint replacement in my right wrist. Those "Ice-Water" Texas oilfield rains/winters did it to me before I was 30!
