Just acquired a Remington 700 Classic and now looking for some load suggestions. Thinking 180gr with RL22 and H4831 to start.

Check with gee... He is a real H & H fan.. I have had several and still have a number one.. I never found a special load for the H &H. Not that worked in all or most rifles... I think I would go with Re 22 and the bullet that you favor... Never used many 180's .. Either 165 or 200 were my choices, but 180s split the difference.. Great rifle in a great caliber..

Reloder 22 may work great; certainly worth trying. I've seen very good accuracy and velocity results with either H4350 and /or H4831 with bullet weights in the 150 -200 grain range.

I use 66.0grs. of H4831sc with a Nosler 200gr. Partition in my Remington 721 300 H&H. My partner uses 67.5grs of H4831sc with a Nosler 200gr. Accubond in his Winchester M70. We both us CCI 250 primers. Has accounted for many deer and elk with these 2 loads.
Nothing like a Remington 700xcr.

I am just getting started with the .300 H&H but so far R26 is looking good with 200 Accubonds and Magnum shows promise.
The weather will have to improve before I get out with the chronograph.
Cheers, Walt

Cheers, Walt I have been hearing good things about RL26. What is your starting load with the 200 AB?

I hesitate to share my load for the 200 gn AB because it is a bit more than the maximum load in the Speer #15 Manual. The Speer data used Federal cases whereas I used Hornady cases. In the .30-06 and .300 Win Mag the Speer 200 gn bulet gave higher pressure (velocity) than 200 Partitions or AB. The maximum charge listed by Speer with their 200 gn is 68.9 gn of R26. My plan is to work up to about 2850 fps or good accuracy (whichever comes first) and stop there.
My rifle is a Browning X-Bolt Medalion with 24" barrel.
Cheers, Walt
