Whats the going price for a used Savage 24 24F. 223/12, Synthetic stock . Condition is 98%. I seen one on Gun Broker with a bid of $955. That seems ridiculously high.

Info greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Sellers do get ridiculously high prices for them, but there doesn't seem to be a shortage of buyers out there.

I have 3 of the 24Fs in 22H/20, 2230/20, and 30-30/20. The 24Fs with 20 gauge barrels seem heavier than the older 24Vs and those with a 12 gauge barrel are even heavier.

I wouldn't pay more than $500 for any Savage 24, except maybe a 24VC in 357MAX/20.

The Ithaca/Tikka LSA-55s are better guns and usually less expensive if you can get by with a 12/222.

I'd rip the sellers arm off for a 357 mag or max over 20ga anywhere close to $500.

I see prices all over the place on 24's. Sometime no rhyme or reason.

Local guy has been trying to sell a 24F for $625(?) for quite some time without much interest.

When they were still being made, they were frequently on Gunbroker for $650 new.... without much interest.

What they're selling for and what the asking prices are make them universes apart, IMO.

It's just like the drillings advertised all over the sites. Every beater gun is a "work of art" and worth a medium ransom. It's similar with the Savages, which are pretty rudimentary guns. I'm not knocking the 24s, but they're worth on average 35% less than the average asking price.

I have seen 22/410s priced $600 and up lately, but they arent selling. A pristine 30-30/20 or a 223/20 would probably get you the money

A "work of art" or "rare"....when the seller doesn't have a clue as to what he's talking about.

Around here the Savages go for $300 to $400 tops, regardless of the combination.
