Anyone running one of these?

How's that working out?

Seems a reasonable concept at a reasonable price.

...or just get some extra tungsten weights from any of the numerous places that sell them, and swap em out as needed. /shrug

seems like this is more geared toward those wanting LESS weight in the buffer system to pair with adjustable gas and a tuned load specific to that rig, as opposed to an application where one can create a heavier buffer to reduce the need for adjustable gas.

i suppose it's all about the application one needs. if you're looking for a way to make a buffer heavier, though, i'd just get tungsten weights. doesn't look like the -15 version comes with but one tungsten weight, which allows one to create a standard H weight buffer. If H2 or H3 were needed, you'd be SOL depending on the odin kit.

Where do you buy the weights?

And, isn't an H3 5.4 OZ, and the heavy AR-15 Odin 5.8 oz?

Midwest tungsten service is one of many places that sells them.

There's no possible way for an ar-15 buffer manufactured to proper spec with one tungsten weight to weigh that much. If you're getting away from the proper spec, then of course anything is possible. But then that means that....ANYTHING is possible (in terms of things not working properly). If an H3 and stiffer spring are installed and the rifle is still overgassed (assuming it's a small frame platform rifle, PCC and large frame are a different issue) you need adjustable gas at that point.....or you need to buy a barrel from someone who knows what size a gas port needs to be, and where. wink

For those desiring a lighter-recoiling rifle who plan on using adjustable gas and a tuned load, it's a fantastic idea.

Definitely not ideal for those desiring a heavier buffer.

KAK
$47 for a complete kit: https://www.kakindustry.com/ar-15-p...dividual-buffer-parts/ar15-buffer-system

or

$8.50 each for tungsten weights: https://www.kakindustry.com/ar-15-parts/lower-parts/buffer-tubes-and-parts/buffer-weight-tungsten

That's the same company that makes the Shockwave arm braces. They are good to go, I've always been happy dealing with them.

Not the cheapest, but, perhaps the best solution.
