I have a Winchester model 1892 and a Lyman model 21 sight marked "D" on the back. I was told that the correct sight for an 1892 is marked "DB". Research I've done indicates the hole spacing for an 1892 is 3.25". The sight I have is 3.25" and appears to fit the same way pictures of 1892's with Lyman 21's look.
Does anyone know what rifle a "D" sight is meant for?
I have an original 1895 with a vintage Lyman 21 (WR) on it and I really want to have this sight installed on the 1892 but I don't want to "Bubba" it.

Here's some info about Lyman 21 sights I was sent out of the book Old Gunsights.
Feel free to fix it so the image pops up ,I can't figure it out.

Having had a Lyman 21 on an original 1895 Deluxe SO takedown rifle in 405 WCF,-I would advise NOT taking your
MY-21 off your rifle. Keep your 92 Lyman 21 D until you find the right sight. Check with Gary Fellers in Fort Worth.

Never be in a hurry to make a mistake...........I have a nice Lyman 21 on an original 1886 in 33 WCF.

Oh believe me the model 21 on my 1895 is there to stay! My post probably wasn’t very clear. I have another sight the “D” marked one. Thank you for looking out for me!

The Lyman model 21s are shorter for the 1892,1894 winchesters then the no.21's for the 1886 and 1895's.Both my model 1895's have the lyman 38 which has the windage wheel adjuster, instead of having to beat it with a piece of wood like the 21's ! grin

Thank s for the reply, do you know if the 21's for the 92's and 94's are the same size?
Im envious of your 38's, those are hard to come by!
