Good as it gets. And the two calibers cover just about anything you might use it for in the south 48.
Was Mike Armstrong. Got logged off; couldn't log back on. RE-registered my old call sign, Mesa. FNG. Again. Mike Armstrong

Very slick. I can picture myself selling off some stuff and going with one of those.
BTW, do they make an ambi buttstock?

Pappy, Blaser made an American style stock which is straight, without the hog back but I'm not seeing very many of them in the US right now. I have one in that configuration but I don't know if a new rifle can be ordered with the American style butt stock anymore. I'm sure there are some in dealer inventories. The good news is that, being a switch barrel rifle, you can get your favorite caliber should it not be on the rifle frame you find.

Okay, thanks. Just a notion at present, but you know how those things fester and swell.

If you get to a point you're ready to look actively, get with me. I'm on Blaser's prostaff and might be able to help you.

I am afraid, for me, this is a case of, "if I have to ask the price, I cannot afford it". Maybe a plain Jane model, I could "ask" but; it still comes down to value. It is a pleasure to view a high end rifle. I do appreciate the post.
It is a beauty of a gun and has had excellent reviews and reputation. I am always suspicious of the long forearm designs compromising accuracy. And, I would not be mounting a scope with that type rear stock. I know there are other configurations available.
The barrel switch and compact take down would allow for one gun with easy transport in say 6.5 and 9.3 combo. Not sure how I might deal with the scope. Probably keep notes on how many clicks to adjust for the barrel change. These can be light weight guns and complimented with a compact scope. Assuming the POI for a given barrel does not shift much when re-mounted. I have not read about that or able to recall. Now, I am drifting down fantasy lane.....
Nice.

IIRC I own/have owned six different rifles that have either the Recknagel twist mounts or the Blaser Saddle mounts. They are super sweet and return to zero every time when the rifle is re-assembled or the scope re-attached. ya! GWB The R93 I keep in the case, broken down. Take the case with me and assemble the rifle in under 3 minutes. My Merkel Jagd Stutzen I keep in a "Skinner Sights" case. It will fit in the tour pack of a Harley, or in the seat next to you or strap it on your backpack. "Blaser" Style Saddle mount (K3 Merkel) Recknagel Twist Mount (K1 Merkel)

That twist mount is sweet. Why didn't I think of that?

Geedubya is right. The Blaser QD saddle mount is known for its ability to be removed and reinstalled and return to zero.

Thanks OSU Sig. Two very close friends both lost their houses but we're fine. Over 5300 homes completely destroyed and around 50 people killed. Folks in other parts of the country simply don't understand just how terrible these wine country fires were!

My nephew was evacuated yesterday and his school in Ojai burned down last night. It looks horrible and there's no telling the extent of loss of life, human and animal, we'll see when its over.

Sexy as a homecoming queen... The Stutzen is a rifle that, once you pick it up and shoulder it, you really don't want to put it down and it balances extremely well, even without a scope. I have a 308 barrel for it too.
