How does the Leica Visus compare with Swarovski Z3 or Kahles?

That's a huge range

It is far superior to a Z3. The Kahles is a tactical scope vs a hunting scope.

Optically this Leica is stunning. The scope itself is very well made and IMO a top quality product. This sale brings it into a price range way below it's value

If these were the replacements for the ERi series, which I believe they are, that top one is stupid cheap and as good as any 2.5-10 European scope out there....IMHO.
I've got two of the 2.5-10 ERi and they are solid. One on a 7-08 and one on a 375HH.

I'm of the same opinion as RHutch. If I didn't already have a 2.5-10 ER on my rifle I'd jump all over one of these Visus. Gotta be the best deal on premium scopes I've seen. Cheers.

Is Leica DCing these scopes?

I bought one when they were $1100ish and felt like I got a good deal. Now they're a steal!

I plan on mounting it on my leopard gun for next year as soon as it warms up some.

They are revamping many of their scopes. This one will go out of production which is how we are able to offer it at such a significant savings. Doesn't make it any less of an amazing scope

Are they DCing the whole Visus line?

I just saw the 1-4x24 Visus finally advertised as in stock at one of your competitors.

To the best of my knowledge the Visus will continue to be made.

I am actually headed over to German in May to discuss their riflescope offerings with Leica and try to get this to be a more prominent offering for them

I received My Leica Visus 2.5-10x42 that I ordered on Friday afternoon! First look out of the box on an overcast day revealed that it is the sharpest, clearest optic that I have seen. This scope is an amazing buy for the money and is everything you said it was and more. Best I've seen for under $1k. Very well finished and controls are tight and handy. Love the L-4a reticle, too. I may just have to budget for another one!

As I said Steve, there's little in the industry anymore that I get excited about or that I see wow factor in. At $929.99 the Leica scope is an awsome buy.

Is the illumination red or more orange like on the ERi?

Mine looks very red and not orange. Happy Trails
