I noticed that Buffalo Arms makes 45 grain and 60 grain .228 bullets for the 22 Hi Power. I have one box of Hornady .227 70 grain left. Although, I never really found that the Hornady .227 bullets shot that well in a 1 in 12 twist. Any suggestions on bullet weight and availability?
Thanks, 300Savage

For plinking and smaller game you cant beat the 65gr cast bullets from bullet man dan on GB or order direct from the Bull Shop online. Schroeder bullets out of California makes a good .228 70gr.

I use the Buffalo Arms 55gr .228 bullet in my combo gun and it is very accurate. I use it for coyote hunting.

And it works. Although this one was shot with the shotgun barrel it is the only picture I've taken with this combo gun in it. 5.6x52R(22 HP)/12ga. BRNO 305 Nikon scope
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Thanks erich, some very impressive shooting at 300 yards. What velocity are you getting out of the rifled barrel.
Thanks again, I need to order some.

I just ordered some a few weeks back from Reeds Ammo. I ordered 62 and 55 grain bonded core soft points, but they also have other varieties. Haven't had a chance to use any of them yet, so can't offer an "after-action" report. https://shop.reedsammo.com/228-62g-BONDED-SOFT-POINT-NEW-22862BOND.htm

Huntingdon die specialties sells the bullets made by Schroeder but they are half the price if you buy them direct from Schroeder.

I don't twist turrets or have strata lines in the scope. It is set at Minute of Coyote, at 300 yards you hold on the top of the back, at 200 yards the middle of the coyote and at 100 yards the bottom of the coyote.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.
