Never had a Ruger semi centerfire. It was a rhetorical question. I DON't want to buy it. I forgot the company name making them. They are decent shooters and are quite clunky. Just don't remember the name.

I have one of the trade-in 21s. Not a bad gun in the Gen 3 SF version. Thanks gunner500. A good idea for a solid gun. Was trying to think of a certain brand. I think they came out with carbines in the same calibers that use the same magazine. It just came up in a conversation and I had Oldtimers' disease. Rusty

Ruger P345. Hi Point makes pistols and carbines that use the same magazine.

Ding, Ding, Ding! Hipoint was the name. The thought was that Glock is the Austrian Hi-Point. Rusty

I know Hi-Points have a reputation for working. But why ANYONE would purchase one Is beyond me.
If I wanted a cheap 45 to shoot, I’d buy a used Ruger P90 or a new P345.

To All,

From time to time, I see RIA or ATI (Both brands are made in the Philippines.) .45ACP "parkerized" 1911A1 "clones" at the local gun-shows for 200-300.oo OTD. = For a "using gun", I would think that the RIA or ATI in "acceptable condition" would be hard to beat.
(An old GF of mine's son has the RIA version & while a "little crude looking", when compared to a "government issue .45", " it shoots FINE with every sort of .45 ammo that I've tried in it.)

Btw, ATI .45ACP "plain vanilla" pistols are 361.oo NIB from Classic Firearms. When they have the RIA pistols in stock, the RIA is about the same price..
(NO, I don't work for the company but have bought several items from them.)

yours, tex

rustyzipper,

I would try and find a Smith and Wesson Shield.

They are very inexpensive and easily concealed. I shoot them very well.

Good luck in this endeavor.

Both, and home delivery by a Victoria's Secret model.

looks better than a 'beater'

and, for now, the bid is cheap!

Cheap is a relative term influenced by reliability and what it brings when disposed of by you or your heirs.

Colt 1911 comes to mind..........

30 years ago the automatic answer would've been a WWII-vintage 1911A1. My how times have changed.
