Just wondering if anyone has found a bullet that’s shoots very similar to the 168TTSX ?
A cheaper bullet to practice some with would save some $.

Haven't loaded them up yet but planning to use 168 gr Ballistic Tip with the TTSX for my 30-06 FWT.

I'd look for a cheaper 165/168gr cup/core bullet with a BC near the TTSX. Preferrably something in a 100ct box. You may get a difference point of impact from the Barnes load, but you can always re-zero just before hunting season.

I bought 168 gr A-Max's for this. Hornady's BTHP match bullet is also pretty close I think.

I was hoping to do the same with 150 gr SSTs and 150 gr GMXs with a 308. Problem is the SSTs group well, but I can't get the GMXs to group at all in that rifle. Tried the GMXs in a 30-06 and got great groups with the first set of test loads. Now if I can get the SSTs to group in the 30-06, I will be set.

Yes, out of my .300 Weatherby, they are pretty close to the 168 TTSX. And I buy them 500 to the box.

I used the Nosler 168 BT in the 30-06 to use with Barnes 168 TSX. The TTSX should do similar. Any Hornady with similar B.C. should also work. It may not be the "exact" charge, but the trajectory will be the same ( or so close you can't tell). I just matched the 130 Hornady SP to the 130 TTSX in my .270. So far so good. Have a ball pard!

The Barnes 168 gr TTSX has a reported G1 BC of .470

Cheaper bullets that are close in BC:

Nosler Custom Comp 168 Gr G1 BC of .464

Hornady AMax 168 gr. G1 BC of .475

Speer Match 168gr. G1 BC of .480 (cheapest of the 3)

my 270 win shoots the 130 ttsx same as 140 SST. I chose to try the 140 as its close to the same length as the 130 mono.
maybe the 180 SST for your 308?

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.
