Anyone heard of major problems in N.M. with the new democratic governor wanting all the republican Fish & Game Commissioners to resign? Governor has issued some major changes to regs concerning the 4500 ranches in N.M. to get landowner tags.

All seven commissioners were asked to submit their resignations, and did so. As far as I know, the Governor has no power to alter regulations except through the actions of the members of the Game and Fish Commission that he/she appoints. Any major changes would have to be heard, and acted upon, at a formal meeting of the Game and Fish Commission, as per the agenda that is published in advance of each meeting.

I suspect that there is some incipient paranoia on the part of ranchers enrolled in the E-Plus program, but none of my sources have posted anything concrete about any proposed changes.
