Red, last year I got a Tikka T3X in 7 RM. Similarly scoped it only weighs 3 oz more than my T 3 270 W.

edit: sorry I forgot to mention, both are T3 Lite, SS.

I have a 700 BDL in 8 mag with really nice wood. I've shot exactly one animal with it ( whitetail doe), and took it elk hunting once, but never pulled the trigger. I haven't shot it in years, collects dust mainly. Thought I needed it at the time

My 700 is 24" bll.
Yes, I loaded 80 gs H 4831 with 220s as well = +2900 fps.

I concentrated on the 200s because of the N P. I use 80 gs of IMR 4831 for 3120 @.

Well, one thing about it:

We have something many/most don't have. It'll kill anything we hunt.

Kill Joy! grin

Remember this was in 1977:

Things were different then. At the time it made quite the splash.
Nearly every gun rag featured it. I have a couple of other mags from the era.

It's NOT a bad round and with the right bullet (in the right place) nothing can survive it.

None at the moment. I like 4-12X40s. I took it off the 8 and put it on my T3X 7 Mag last year.
