I tossed around getting one for a moose hunt, but never did. Now I have a 7RM that I'm even wondering why I own.
Not the recoil with either, just too big a framed gun for what I like. Red, last year I got a Tikka T3X in 7 RM. Similarly scoped it only weighs 3 oz more than my T 3 270 W. Jerry edit: sorry I forgot to mention, both are T3 Lite, SS.

I have a 700 BDL in 8 mag with really nice wood. I've shot exactly one animal with it ( whitetail doe), and took it elk hunting once, but never pulled the trigger. I haven't shot it in years, collects dust mainly. Thought I needed it at the time

I reloaded the 220 SGK with 80 gr H4831sc or 83 RL 25. 3050 fps from a 26" tube. My 700 is 24" bll. Yes, I loaded 80 gs H 4831 with 220s as well = +2900 fps. I concentrated on the 200s because of the N P. I use 80 gs of IMR 4831 for 3120 @. Jerry

At the time it made quite the splash. Nearly every gun rag featured it. I have a couple of other mags from the era.
