Any thoughts either good or bad about the vx-3L? Specifically 3.5-10x50 with the German #4 illuminated reticle.

I had bad luck with a VXL 3.5-10x56 which was the model with the curved objective lens that came out before the VX3L. I purchased it new from Cabela's I'm wanting to say around 2008. I'm sure this is the exception more so than the rule but it did steer me away from Leupold products for years.
I have recently purchased a VX5-HD and a VX-Freedom, which I haven't had that long but have been happy with both. Got such good deals they were hard to pass up. Good luck if you purchase.

I hunted with the VX-3L 4.5-14x50mm for a few years with a regular duplex and CDS. It worked well and I had no problems with the scope.
