The Wilson Arrow actually has slightly less capacity than the original Swift. The shoulder is pushed back and sharpened. The main benefit is less brass trimming, but Swift brass must be run through a Wilson Arrow die before the first loading. Swift ammo won't load in the Wilson Arrow.
Thanks for the info Tatelaw.

Back before the gray found me...…......…… About 15 below that morning. Called a pair in and was within one of those short hairs of getting them both to line up at a whisker over 100 yards. This one started getting nervous so I lowered the boom. GUARANTEED his buddy was spitting chunks of him out as he high-tailed it away. Remarkably...……eviscerated on the spot...…..this dog made it about 30 yards before expiring. Lousy pic of the rifle, really...…... Just whatcha get when a 50 gr BT still making 3650-ish hits you in the middle. True,it is not a good pic of the rifle, but I don't care.

Jayzus Yoder, what did you hit that yote with a grenade launcher? Next thing to it...………. 50 gr Ballistic Tip...……….leaving at 4180...……….arriving at 3650...…….. IIRC, that was about a 34 lb yote. You oughta see what it does to an 8-10 lb groundhog......……... Here is what my .22/6mm did to a coyote at 25-30 yards with a 55 grain NBT. The other side.

You mean you aren't buying that B.C. is the ultimate criteria for the worth of a bullet?

Once you know about rifles and reloading - you find our really fast (or should) that you have to understand the customer / people.
Take a PRS shooter....
6 Creedmoor is a hotdog that will burn barrels in 1,800 rounds, but if you are a good tactical shooter and want to min. Wind drift - it may be your huckleberry. 6 BR is the opposite end of that spectrum, it lasts for every, is very accurate, but it’s a bit slower... older smart guys who looked at the speed / barrel life trade off oftentimes go this way. 6 Dasher - a good mix, requires fireforming... aka lost of time, and some bad necks help or don’t - but if you are a “efficieny” focused guy you might want that.
So always find out what is going to resonate well with the shooter.
Just say’n... Here we could say
Swift - 22 Creed 22-250 ...

I love my 14 twist Remmy 700 Classic 220 Swift. It's the proverbial "gun I'd never sell". 55 Gr NBT's at 3800 fps with pinpoint accuracy accomplishes all I require of it. Vaporizes crows, knocks the snot out of coyotes and puts down hogs with aplomb. If I need to go longer, will pull out a 6.5.

My tired old Swift doesn't get much time afield anymore since we moved to Alaska. It is a Ruger 77V, tang safety that came into our shop with a almost indiscernible bulge and ring about an inch back from the muzzle. The owner wasn't saying what happened and wanted to trade for a bolt gun in 223. I worked out the trade (we got into it really cheap) and then bought the gun from the shop, sent it back to Ruger for a new barrel and used it these last 28 years.
At the time I bought it I was neck deep in year round coyote control work, mostly trapping but a considerable amount of calling and stalking. That Swift was my only varmint rifle at the time and I came to depend on it heavily. It was, and still is, a dependable coyote killer. I tried most all the available bullets of the day. The Btips and Vmax were making inroads to the bullet market. I loved the 40 grain Btip as a ground squirrel vaporizer. The old Speer 52 grain HP is a good fur bullet as is the Sierra 1365 55 BTSP Gameking. I didn't like the 40 grains as a fur bullet. On a perfect chest shot they were spectacular. On a not so perfect shot they weren't so hot.
The 22 Creedmore didn't exist in its current form. It was known as a fast twist 22-250 AI at the time. A few looneys had them. In a lot of respects the 22 Creedmore or 22-250 are probably a better option than the Swift. They have a lot to offer and few, if any things to fault.
The Swift has been king for a long time but it has its idiosyncrasies like the semi rimmed case. It only takes once of loading the top round's rim behind the lower round's rim in the magazine to cure you of that mistake. Especially when a fast follow shot is required. I'm stuck in the past lane and will keep my Swift. Maybe if I finally wear out this barrel, I'll have a fast twist barrel installed. It'll still stay a Swift. I've still got a lot of new brass to be worn out.

Seems like now that Stick has found something else to do with himself this thread is getting some good commentary on it.

He's probably on the slope. He and I used to change out on the same day. I always saw him on Wednesdays every two weeks. We changed to a charter flight on my project so I never see him at the airport anymore.
