We know hammerheads have a lot of electromagnetic field detectors (aka ampullae of Lorenzini) on their heads and relatively small mouths for their size.
Here’s a hammerhead in action, detecting prey with those ampullae, thought it was pretty cool.

That is pretty cool. His search pattern is very similar to what I've done with avalanche beacons. The shark is following the electric flux lines as evidenced by his tighter and tighter turns when he's almost on top of the ray.

stingray is good shark bait. especially a smaller live one.

Ive seen a ton of T-heads (mostly scallops and greats) feed in the wild. They never fail to impress with their incredible maneuverability and sensory perception. The funniest thing to see is a mid sized T-head trying to eat a large live mullet out on the long kite. It’s truly a goat rodeo to see. Hysterical.
Hammer Heads are amazing creatures. I have had the pleasure of diving with them on 3 separate occasions. Three trips to Cocos Island Costa Rica. Okeanos Aggressor.
