Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

I’m using IMR 3031 under the Sierra 200 RN in my BLR. It’s a compressed load and good for around 2600. Shoots 1-1.25 MOA with a 4x scope. Haven’t shot anything but paper yet.

Not the fastest but 47.5grs H4895 and the 200 Hornady is very accurate from my Hawkeye.
2490fps from a 22” barrel
When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

The 200 gr TTSX pushed by 52 grs of TAC worked exceedingly well on all manner of plains game (kudu, gemsbuck, wildebeest, warthogs...) in 2012.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

Mine does well with IMR 4320. I'm at about max on the powder charge, so won't list it.

47.5 gr IMR 3031 200 gr Hornady SP CCI 200 primer Winchester brass
I seat the bullet a bit before the cannelure and crimp with a Lee factory crimp die. Cycles and feeds in my BLR. My load is probably a little conservative and figure I could bump it up to 48.5 gr. in my rifle, but don't see the need to. Recoil increased noticeably at 49 gr during load development. Temps were moderately cool. No chrono data.
I referenced Modern Reloading, 2nd Ed by Richard Lee for load development.

You can start at 45grs RL-10 under a 200gr TTSX, new Hornady brass with a CCI-250 primer, I stopped a tick over 2700 fps from my 22" barreled Ruger Hawkeye all-weather, it's a stoner on deer and pigs.

I use 51.0 gr. of TAC and is my favorite powder for this cartridge with 200 gr Hornady Inter-Lock SP also with Serria GK 220 works fine!

I've been using TAC and the 200 SP. Can't remember the charge off the top of my head but I think it was 51.....will try to check tomorrow. At any rate, if you've go it handy try TAC.

Smoked a doe at 200 yards with a 200 Hornady and 50.0 of TAC, took out the opposite shoulder. IMR4064 shoots great with the 200s too, but doesn't have the velocity TAC does.

While not a .358 my .35 Whelen is deadly accurate with Hornady 200gr. RN and IMR 3031, IMR 4064 also works well. Used the 3031 load to take last year's buck, bullet was perfectly mushroomed and retained 122gr. weight. I believe these components would work just as well in the .358.

Dale Thanks dale, you chrono it? Yep. Low was 2504 High was 2518, Ave was 2509. SD was 6.2 A bit over 1 inch groups (3 shot) at 100 yds. from a Savage 99. I've tried TAC but my gun doesn't seem to like it as well as IMR 4320. IMR 4064 groups as well as IMR 4320 but about 100 fps slower and doesn't meter well. Dale

It is, I could never get TAC here, always used H-322, then tried RL-10, it's slower burning than H-322 and more compact, win/win as far as wanted speed with lower pressures, col's are easy to get without massive over compression, very accurate, has provided several ragged three and four round groups in calm winds.

I have 4320, I'll have to give it a try if it groups as well as 4064 but with more velocity.

I think Ed and his son's trip to Africa is about the best testimony there is for the .358 and it's capabilities. powdr

Tac does sound like the best powder to start with if you got it, pretty tough to find here.
Just to add my .02 to the thread, my BLR doesn't like boat tail bullets but does well with flat base slugs. The 200 gr Hornady Spire Point and RN and Sierra 200 gr RN all shoot well with 45.5-46 gr IMR 3031 depending on the exact bullet. You never asked this but will add it anyway, it does great with the 180 gr Speer and 48 gr H 4895 and also the 225 gr Woodleigh RN loaded with 47 gr IMR 8208. Don't have accurate speeds right now but will try to run them over the chronograph in the next few weeks. Pretty tough to get any type of readings here in winter when it's so dark.
Edit: Forgot to add I did go higher with the 200 gr IMR 3031 loads but the accuracy fell apart, went up to 48 gr I believe.
