Specifically the model Leupold VX-6HD 3-18x50mm FireDot Duplex Scope 171572
SKU 171572-Leupold
How is tracking and quality? Thinking of getting one for my MKV 30-378 KCR. It is wearing a SWFA 3x15x44mm FFP mil quad currently. How does it compare?
Thanks

Unless they have miraculously made them better I can’t see them trumping the SS... I’m sure they are great to look thru but it’ll take a bunch more folks wearing them out before I’d give them my money.

That is what I fear before taking the plunge. The HD is suppose to be well above the plain VX6

I have one mounted on a Cooper Raptor and love it. I like Alpha glass and it qualifies as such. To be honest I've got three of the VX6's and another 2 of the VX6 HD's and I have had zero issues with those scopes.

I have the VX6HD 2-12x42 with B&C reticle, although I haven't even mounted it yet the glass is Alpha glass, reticle is thick and can be picked up at dusk without the illumination. It's perfect for my style of hunting. I don't plan to twist turrets and wouldn't compare the tracking to a SWFA by no means. The max 12 power is more than I need, I like to keep it simple without any parallax adjustment.

My last VX6 was not great on tracking BUT it was NOT a HD model I hate to say it but I wouldn't purchase the VX6 HD if you're twisting turrets and want spot on tracking.

Spending that much money for a VX6 HD, I might as well get another Nightforce or something else of the same quality.

Just a small data point of one, but I had a 2-12 vx6hd cds-zl2 (I think thats what they called the elevation dial). I had it at the range several times, 100-600 yards getting it ready for elk season, and its adjustments were spot on.

I know the turret only turns 2 revolutions. Does anyone know what is the max elevation one can compensate for in those 2 turns?
