"A person shall not by any means participate in, organize, promote, or solicit participation in a contest where a participant uses of intends to use any device or implement to capture or kill predatory animals or fur-bearing animals as defined under A.R.S. 17-101. For the purpose of this subsection, "contest" means a competition among participants where participants must register or record entry and pay a fee and prizes and cash are awarded to winning or successful participants."

There are a few of us here in AZ that are actively engaged in fighting. BUT YES, FB you are right. They take it away bit by bit, piece by piece.

They were pushing this down state here in New Yorkistan,not sure if it passed or is on the table. The one here though was for any contest,fishing,bi buck preds.etc.. Politicians downstate wouldn't know a coyote from a shepard.

Of course not; "coyotes" doing whatever the [bleep] they want in Arizona is being equally applied...
Obviously the Arizonians have been overwhelmed by numerous cases of transplants, some coyotes themselves.

They are still popular in TX. True...but those contests have trimmed the coyote numbers down to...............countless thousands! Schitt,don't they realize we have done everything we can think of as a species to eliminate coyotes and they have done nothing but flourish ... Its like the prairie dog shooting bans elsewhere the bottom line is those mean old hunters enjoy it, therefore we must stop it!
